It really concerns me that we have so few healthy DBs and we only signed like 10 players this last class with no CBs when we face so many spread teams that have kicked our arse in years past. That's the kind of shite that lead to Spurrier's demise at USCe

ETA: it's fricking imperative that this D-line lives up to expectations if we're going to be an ok team.

Yep, I am not that worried about the QB or o line. I think the worst case scenario is they will be serviceable. The secondary scares the shite out of me. I think they will be improved from last year, but it needs to be a huge improvement if we are going to make any noise.

The defense needs to be great this year I know it's capable of it but can it get there by week 2?

The offense doesn't have to take a whole lot of risks if the defense does their thing. Which is what we want this year. If we need 300+ yards passing a game to win we're gonna be in a world of trouble.

If we're still trotting KRich out there as a nickel we're in deep shite.

Rhoades has to work a miracle for us to have any kind of year that we're hoping for.

If our DLine lives up to the hype, they'll make the secondary look a hell of a lot better than it is.

Fool me once...

The DL that will live up to the hype is this freshman class in a couple years, that's gonna be a nasty one.

They certainly helped make it worse last year. If the qb can stand back there forever he will pick you apart. No secondary can cover indefinitely every receiver on every play.

This.

I'm convinced that part of the reason our secondary was a horror show last year, specifically during the first half of the season, was because our defensive line couldn't generate any semblance of a pass rush.

Bad technique too. First thing Rhoads did was the white stripe on their helmets so he could see where their eyes were. Saw they weren't where they needed to be and started working on that right away.
Also saw that he adjusted their stance a little.

Khalia Hackett didn't start last year because of the stripes, eyes in a bad position

Man I have so many memories from Cardinal Corner going back to when they sponsored my first t-ball team many, many years ago. I heard it went to shite after the Neal's sold it but before then it was a great place.
