How do you feel about our death penalty law?

whew, the lady from Ch 7 KATV who witnessed the execution seemed to be very shaken when she came to the camera to give her report.
I cant imagine watching that...
And yet the family of the victim has been waiting for over 25 years. This man was a rapist and a murderer.
Sad all the way around, but it is our law.

Outside of the fact that your killing someone, lethal injection is nothing but anesthesia. Basically putting them to sleep just like surgery and following with an overdose of potassium to stop the heart. Completely painless.

Should've saved tax payers dollars years ago.

Lethal injection isn't exactly cheap or a save money solution
Posted on 4/21/17 at 7:28 am to Razorback Reverend
So far, it hasn't had a direct impact on me one way or another. Hopefully it stays that way.
The one thought that I have had was, I think if I was one of these cowards sentenced to life in a cage, I think I would prefer being put to sleep rather than living out my life that way.
Who knows, though.
The one thing that I did find amusing, are all of the people calling the Governor and Attorney General murderers. They have a duty to all Arkansans, to carry out the law. If you don't like the law on the books, change the law.
So far, it looks like some of the savages have been saved from being put to sleep by our justice system. We don't live in a perfect justice system, but it's by far better than most civilized countries.
What gets me is, more people are being killed by govt approved foods that are sold in the poultry section of just about every food store, but we are outraged over lethal injections.
The left wing Humane Society kill millions of innocent cats/dogs every year, what did they do wrong? Both the left and Right support tHumane Society.
Left wing Planned Parenthood kill millions of babies (not at the govt direction) but get taxpayer money to keep their doors open, but Right wing tend to support execution of adults.
Apples to oranges, but the hypocrisy from both sides runs deep.

Execution is the more expensive option

What makes execution so expensive? It's not like Propafol and Potassium are high dollar drugs. I'm not being a dick, just asking because I seriously don't understand why that is such an expensive process.
I would think keeping all these criminals alive for years would be more expensive.

Fck em. Put them in the ground like animals. This pity party for these scumbags makes me want to punch somebody in the face. Just because their terrible, horrible and murderous crimes were 25+ yrs ago doesnt make them any less painful to the families of the victim. Put yourself in their shoes for one minute. Think about losing a daughter or spouse to one of these POS. I have zero empathy. I hope something goes wrong and they feel pain and suffer. Spit.

I for one think the death penalty is an easy way out for these bastards, but cruel and unusual punishment is against the law.

Don't have a strong opinion one way or another, but probably lean pro-death penalty.
1) Personally I would choose death penalty over life w/o parole. To me it is more humane than living in a cage for the rest of my life.
2) Could you imagine being the family of one of the actual victims and have your tax dollars go to give the person that tortured, raped, and murdered your family member 3 hot meals per day, recreation time, and a bed.
I would like to see these studies that cite the death penalty being more expensive than life. Not that I don't believe that could be true, I would just like to see and verify that information.

Makes sense. I didn't think of those cost. I do like the idea of having them make money for the state and I do agree that being put to sleep is an easy way out.
Maybe we can go the George Carlin route and have pay per view of criminals in a district battling it out hunger game style to balance the budget.

This guy didn't just rape and kill one person (a mother of a 7 year old). He also carried two other life sentences for rape and they didn't even waste time with trials for a few others that he was the prime suspect for.
Personally, I'd rather see people convicted of stuff like this sentenced to work 12 hour days every day. Mowing the medians, picking up trash, etc. Every night they can go back to their cell which has a cyanide capsule there for them to choose should they wish.
Nobody else should hafta kill them but if they don't want to do something productive, let them kill themselves.
As far as guarding them while they work...easy to equip them with the equivalent of a shock collar that will knock them to their knees should they leave the defined area. I do it to my hunting dog all the time and she's worth a lot more than scum like this.
So...I'm against the death penalty. Its too easy.

Most don't, and the big issue is most don't want to learn that.

Such a tough subject, I'm really just glad I don't have to make the decision.

And we all thank the good lord that you don't. Women can't handle these kind of issues, kern.
