My beloved Tide got out played and out coached.

Hurts regressed the 2nd half of the year.

Our D got tired and wet didn't substitute enough. It seemed like the D line just disappeared.

We can't covera gangly white boy receiver.

We have probably the best receiver in the country and he's relegated to being a blocker.

Our best pass was thrown by our damn receiver.

The biggest mismatch in college football over the last 10 years is hardly ever used.

The best left tackle in the game can't seem to stay onsides.

Y'all tell me I'm wrong.

All that can be fixed/overcome with decent passing. Feel better now?

Yep, not going to argue with any of your post. The only thing I can say is knowing what we know of Nick, this will drive him even more. Kind of like when the whole "he can't stop mobile quarterbacks" was going on, he found a way and dominated the next several years. Bama is still on top, two great teams last night played a great game and in the end Bama just didn't have enough. I think this will fuel them though!

No, because we dont have a better passer.

Give me a game manager that can complete a 15 yd forward pass any day.

I love Hurts but it's obvious the staff has little confidence in his ability as a passer.

The only things I would disagree with:
- Hurts didn't regress as much as teams figured out how to defend against him (and stopped respecting the forward pass).
- The best receiver in the country was making catches over our DBs last night.
- D line played well until they were gassed, and even then Clemson's OL were hanging all over them.

Well, I don't feel great about him either, but I was hoping you would. I hate that we let Barnett get away. Maybe he would never be the answer, but I know he's a better passer than Hurts.

But, maybe Hurts will surprise us and really come on next year. Besides just not being very accurate, a LOT of his problem is not knowing how to throw a receiver open. He's apparently looking to see a guy running with 5 yards of separation. That can be fixed, hopefully.

If none of your family got sick, died and you're still employed and healthy, you'll be fine. Relax. This board knew full well the likelihood of this game with an offense that had no balance against a team that good.

You're not helping Teague :).

Hurts needs a LOT of coaching as a passer.

He'll be ok. I just hate we let one get away we should have won.

We play Florida tonight in basketball. We can start conference play 3-0.

It's a shame that the team's accomplishments this year will be overshadowed by this loss, but it is what it is. Was a HELL of a game.

Consider:
We just ran the table with a true freshman QB. Who does that?
We just ran the table with a true freshman QB while changing our offense.(Ok, call it modifying. And hopefully we learn to pass block)
Another #1 class rolling into town.
Last time we lost we ran off 26 wins and a NC with a shot at a second NC.

We will spend the next offseason being told that Alabama is done. And we will show up in the picture again next year as usual (though I actually expect that the year after next will be our next run).

Here's the final word. Nick's goal is to beat Bryant's NC record. He has set the time frame at 3-5 years (per Mrs. Terry). Enjoy the ride!

Alabama will be back in it next year more than likely.

I miss pro style offense.
I miss McCarron.
Hell, I miss Jake Coker.

It'll come. Hurts was the best option with his limited experience but that's not his fault. His weaknesses this year are all mental that will come from experience. He has the tools.

If it makes you feel better to know that Alabama was beaten by a team that played better than them in all phases of the game, then take solace in that. Clemson was just flat out better than us last night.

He definitely regressed. Look at highlights of him throwing the ball earlier in the season. He was hitting more passes than he missed. Now, he's hanging onto the ball for so long, waiting to find someone totally uncovered. When someone is open, he often can't get them the ball. These things are independent of what the defense is doing.

His protection from the offensive line last night was awful and Sark's gameplan was shite, but Hurts did not execute either. Hopefully he can right the ship in the off season.

Secondary had poor fundamentals

I'm not upset about any other parts of the game. Maybe Hurts' passing could be better but the dude ran in a long TD to put us in position to win the game

I'm not going to pretend I'm that upset just so people can get their rocks off to a bama melt lol

Maybe so. I think he's scared back there, though, which is (just) one reason he's so quick to bail out and throw the ball away. Ironic, because that's supposedly what held back Barnett. I am also reminded of a recent Auburn qb that had the size and the tools, but on the field he never got better.
