And by ya'll I mean half the people on here bitching, whining, and bashing the team. Ya'll have to be new fans ('08 and up) because there's no way you could have survived in the Shula years. 4-9, 6-6, and 6-7 in 06' when we didn't win a SINGLE ROAD GAME. The "Fear the Thumb" era. The days of the "Honk If You Sacked Brody" bumper stickers. Then you idiots are saying Saban has lost it and it's time for him to move on. Do you not realize we had a playoff berth last year? How many consecutive #1 recruiting classes? 3 MNC's. 3 SECC's. We've only had less than 11 wins TWICE since he's been here. TWICE. That's insane. And we drop a game to Ole Miss (which we did last year and still had a successful season) and you entitled jackasses freak out. 5 TO's and we still only lost by 6 and were in it til the last second. Coker isn't McCarron. Get over it, that's football. If ya'll melt this way over one loss please just stop posting because personally you're embarrassing.

I agree that some of the people complaining weren't around for the lean years. But some melting is understandable after how rough that loss was. I'm a UA student whose earliest memories of Bama football are from the Dubose era and I melted pretty bad at first IRL.

You signed up for a website called the rant. Are you surprised that posters are, um, ranting?

Think of it this way. From 2009-2012, we lived among the 1% on a private estate with any amenity you could possibly want. We had a taste of luxury that most can only dream about.

In 2013 we received the eviction notice, and now we live in an upper class subdivision with a few more neighbors. Is it nice? Sure is. There are thousands of people who wish their team could be where we are, but there are some in our fanbase who can't be happy with it because it gets compared to the previous estate. We get most of what we want, but don't get to annually experience what has become the standard of Alabama football, championships.

We may have experienced a step down, but it sure beats the hell out of the trailer that our friends in West Georgia and Tennessee are living in.

Bama's history is sometimes our own worst enemy. What has happened under Saban, Coach Bryant, et al creates in realistic expectations.

This team just doesn't have all the pieces. It's a shame but it just doesn't. It will win 10 games but not going to be a national contender.

It's taken me 50 years and half a liter of Knob Creek last night to get this point but just have to accept that it is not our year.

I figured that on their fluke TD to start the second half.

It absolutely could still be our year. Ole Miss could drop a game, and then we are right back up there competing for the title. The season certainly isn't over.

I've been the eternal optimist of a Bama fan but there are way too many parts that are wrong. Not going to happen this year.

You may be right but I just can't mail in the season after game 3.

Had this happened in November, I'd understand, but there is still a lot of ball left to be played.

Not mailing in the season (never would) but I just see a lot of pieces that don't look good enough to win it all.

I think the offensive philosophies have evolved where I disagree with the game manager QB. Defenses are being handicapped with rules so offenses are going to score. A game manager QB can't catch up if the rest of the parts (I.e. Special Teams) fail. Bama's are pretty bad right now. If we're not missing field goals, we're fumbling kick offs.

To compensate, you've got to be able to score and/or keep the other offense off the field. Apparently, Kiffen doesn't think we can run the ball so we're not doing either.

I'll watch every game and be sick if they lose but it's likely going to happen more until things are corrected.

i find it interesting you bring up all those number one classes. uh, seems to me hugh freeze is doing more with less. i mean he hasnt been at ole miss as long as saban has been at bama. he hasnt had those number one classes. but hes making regular habit of beating those number one classes. i think its called 'coaching up the players'. but i think most important is, he doesnt run a system so complicated that great players end up standing on the sideline watching, us lose.

Ole Miss will drop a game. They aren't that great. If neither team turns the ball over in this game, Bama wins by double digits. How many more teams that Ole Miss plays is going to give them 24 points off turnovers and have a fluke play for a TD. It was just there night. There will be a couple games this year were everything goes right for Bama and they will destroy whoever they are playing.
I just hope it happens against Georgia, LSU or Auburn.

I applaud your optimism, but unless the ULM game magically makes: Coker a better passer/decision maker, the right side of the offensive line up to Alabama standards, our wide receivers able to catch a cold, and the special teams unit at least good enough for FCS play (which would be monumental progress), you'd best be psyching yourself for lovely and exciting Tampa, FL, because UGA & LSU are going to push our shite in while the Aggies watch and toss off. Hell, even Bret Belemic might end up tugging on his shorts before this is over.

All in all, it beats the shite out of Nashville and Shreveport. At least Tampa has decent booby bars, restaurants, and you won't freeze your arse off.

What are you talking about? I didn't say anything about a number 1 class.

Our goals are still intact, unless anyone thinks Ole Miss will not lose 2 or 3. My biggest problem is with the special teams. We never need to return kickoffs since you start on the 25, unless they are short of the endzone, risk-reward doesnt equate.

And we give scholarships to place kickers when we could just invite 4 or 5 walk ons and get better results.

Coker kept us in the game with his running and if the center had of held his block who knows, the last INT might have been a TD. I did not like the bomb call there, we had 3 minutes and they were playing prevent and giving us 10 yards all night and Kiff tries to go deep.
