frick everything about that idea. No plan that involves playing your home games that far from your students makes any sense.

Then the only alternative would be to keep Coleman and build a new arena somewhere else. Even if you could completely renovate Coleman (which would basically call for gutting the entire arena) I don't know if you could finish the job in one off-season.
I really don't know what the solution is but we need a new arena.

I would not be in favor of any plan that involves keeping Coleman Coliseum unless somehow it basically means tearing it to the studs and rebuilding on the spot solely because of the practice facility being there.

I say build a new one while continuing to play in Coleman. Once the new arena is done gut Coleman and turn it into some type of all-purpose venue for the smaller sports.

We already have Foster Auditorium.

I say keep Coleman and continue playing in it while building a new arena. When the new arena is finished keep Coleman solely for gymnastics and renovate it.

unless the on-court product improves from what it has been for over a decade now, there's no reason to waste money renovating a stadium which will remain mostly empty.
Rarely works in this order in college athletics.

This. Coleman is an embarrassment no matter how many coats of paint we put on it. I don't care if we have to eat the $50 Million that we spent on renovations 10 years ago and have to play at the BJCC for two years, we need a new arena. I don't think we will ever truly turn the corner until we have a better "face" for our program.
The fact that we are in the bottom half of the sec in terms and both Mississippi schools have a better area than us is just downright sad.

Or turn it into a new Natatorium. Be nice to have an elite aquatic center.

Why should the University continue to put money into Coleman? If we build a new arena, any sport currently playing in Coleman should move to it and get rid of Coleman. There's no sense is continuing to put money into an arena that would host MAYBE 8 gymnastics meets a year.

As someone else said, they could turn it into a new natatorium. Or hell tear it down and build a brand-new indoor practice facility for football.

Build new arena in parking lot right next to Coleman. When new arena is finished, tear down Coleman and turn into parking lot/deck. Simple.

Something about perpetual motion and cold fusion.
It's all very advanced.
