It seems like purposely clls a string of shitty plays just to piss us off

It's like he gets the shakes and can't help himself. I'm screaming for Saban to go threaten his arse. We were MAULING then in the run game and then he gets cute in the redzone.

He never ceases to amaze me with some of tricky shite. I still think he is capable of costing us a game down the road. Or worse, getting someone hurt. I usually catch hell if I mention it. I'm glad someone else has noticed.

I went to the game. The entire student section was sitting there screaming for him to run it down their throats after Harris and Jacobs both got big gains. Maybe it's just me having a knee-jerk reaction shortly after the game, but it was infuriating to see Hurts struggle in the pass and Kiffin sit there and rely heavily on it.
Of course we all said that, and Hurts hits Ridley for a TD in the red zone

I don't know why he loves those outside QB runs so much. Running up the middle has worked well for this team all year but on 3rd or 4th and short he's runs it outside the tackles.

He frustrates the hell out of me.

It is frustrating but Jalen has to get better passing and Kiffin knows it. You can't totally abandon a phase of the game because a guy is struggling. You have to force him to get better. Hurts can't pull the ball down and run his whole career.

I agree with you! Great post. And yes Jalen needs to find more touch and less "heave". Might be something as simple as a touch more arch on the deep throws in particular but the WR's often just can't seem to catch up to the deep ball Jalen throws.

I'm just glad he is gone this year.

This.
His errant play calling, especially in the redzone, leads to Griffith stepping foot on the field.
That's is a terrible chain reaction.

What better way for a freshman to learn?

Just a thought but he may just be trying to keep his receivers happy by throwing the ball so they stay hungry enough to block. It's a shame we can't take advantage of our full arsenal.

He's constantly auditioning for a head coaching job and I think he feels that if he runs it too much that people will say his success is due to Bama's talent and offensive line. So he tries to show that he can be tricky and all that. Well that's my theory anyway.

This!!! Bama HAS to become better at passing down the road... It could cost a game or two if we don't...

I will believe it when I see it but if a team shuts down our running game i don't think Jalen will win it with his arm. Outside of one run last year Clemson did it and it took Coker passing downfield to win the title. We will see.

I think they know the kid is capable of making the throws and they also want teams to keep the deep safety look because we can run when we have to against that style of Defense. LSU and Auburn will be key. If the offense can put up 21 to 28 points on those defenses, aside from Meatchicken (and maybe Washington), we should be good to go.

I had no issues with him taking shots down field and doing play actions and hitting OJ in the flat. I hate when they spend the entire drive running it successfully, then get into the red zone and damn near abandon it.
I know you have to keep the defense honest and I don't disagree with some of the play calls, but it seemed like Hurts was struggling for a bit passing wise and A&M was heating up the pressure.

I kind of like the fact he's won 2 SEC title and a national title in his 2 years here. He's the best quarterback coach, imo, in the SEC, having developed 2 career backups to win those titles, and now undefeated with a 3rd guy.
I hope he stays forever.

We keep running the ball in the red-zone and it's 24-7 at the half.
