Headed up friday for my first visit to the Vol Land. What\Where should Bama fans do Friday night and on Gameday? Is there a pep rally or something? Where should we go eat\not go eat? Basically i'm looking for a Bama visitor's guide to make the most out of the trip up there. Thanks.

Most activities require a plunger, empty cans, or an enema.

Calhoun's is legit.

To answer the OP though, just go to the strip and hit the bars Friday night. There will be plenty of Alabama fans around. Same thing Saturday, wander around, take in the atmosphere, meet some people and tailgate. It ain't complicated.

Plenty of things to do there, the old city is another don place to hang out that Friday night and Saturday after the game..

Southbound in the old city is fun,and plenty of good places to eat up there.

here's what I posted on Woollyal:

3 Areas you need to remember:

1. The Strip - just off campus...medium walk to stadium/campus. Mostly college crowd/gameday (same as T-Town.

2. Market Square - more downtown, need a cab, not walking distance to campus. Mostly adults/ young professionals/yuppies (more like downtown Tuscaloosa).

3. Old City (more downtown, need a cab) Mostly alternative, hipsters, twenty/thirtysomethings. Also a lot of late night clubbing if you're into that scene.

Also might check out the restaurant called Calhoun's on the River (American/BBQ joint on the river, very close to stadium) Also from here you can check out the Vol Navy.

Food on the Strip: Copper Cellar, Sunspot, Tin Roof or Olde College Inn. (all mostly pub grub)

Old City: LINK

Market Square: LINK /

Downtown Grill & Brewery is supposedly great. Live music. Never been there but going to try to get there this weekend. You'll need to cab it there though. LINK /

Ye Olde Steakhouse is great but it's a bit of a drive and pricier.

This will also give you some great suggestions: LINK

Knoxville is a fun town despite it being plastered with shitty orange.
