What does Sark do differently than Kiff?

I remember many saying the Lane was the planner and Sark the play caller at USC, but I really don't remember the specifics of Sarks offense at Washington or during his head stint at USC. I know he really changed to spread concepts with Locker at UDub.
What are his pros/cons as a play caller? Would love to see a nice long article on him.

I have a question. Did Fresno St. already hire a coach? I thought Kiffin would be the favorite for that job.

Damn, that's a good hire

This is some old footage of the Style of coach he is as for how he works With QB's.
If you U-TUB any Usc 2014 HIGHLIGHTS you are going to see how much more aggressive he is going down field.
You should expect more balls on go routes down the sidelines and those dump downs,
to RB in the flat are directly something I think he made kiffin do.
Along with those Rb on circle routs and middle seem routes in the video above.
That's why I can't understand why Bo has not been isolated on Lb when you consider his Wr skills from High school.
Usc 2014
What Stark is known for is Qb development and game day call.Steve can give you just as much pro set vs spread .
So Jalen should be in good shape.

The fact Sarkisian has been here all season is good if he has to call plays in the playoffs, and though it worries me some if that happens, there is the likelihood he'll add some of his own plays or series of plays, considering we'll have a month of practice. What we lose in continuity with Kiffin could maybe be offset by the new wrinkles by Sarkisian.
Trying to be positive here. Until Kiffin leaves, it's a moot point anyway. Then, there is the kind of scary possibility that Kiffin might leave before the playoffs, and take Sark with him. Now that would really suck.
A good number of Alabama fans have wanted to get rid of Kiffin. Be careful for what you wish.

dont think NS will allow that. He gave them both chances when many wouldnt come close. Both owe him and I see both staying throughout unless Kiff gets a HC gig. Even then I would expect him to be at Bama for the games like KS was. They want that Natty ring on their resume.

I'm not sure a coach working his way back up could burn that bridge.
This isn't the bridge over the Alabama river he'd be burning, he'd be torching the mf Golden Gate.

I think if Kiffin leaves he leaves before the Playoffs and that it is a mutually agreed upon decision with Saban.
I don't think Kiffin would be leaving Sunday to go to LSU as a middle finger to Saban, he would be doing it because Saban wants him to go ahead and go.

I just posted a similar thought in a thread on tRant.
The situation this season is different that what Bama faced with Kirby. Sark's been here all season. The players know him and one would assume he's been an integral part of the offensive brain trust.
Saban's hatred for clutter is well known, and Lane Kiffin on a normal day is the textbook definition of clutter. If Sark's earned Saban's trust and confidence, I can easily see Nick saying "Thanks for your service, good luck with your career, and we'll send you a ring in the mail in a couple of months."

Both are known for QB development, but Kiffin hasn't really carried a title of QB coach until he was at Bama (though he worked with QBs at Tenn, he didn't at USC when he was an assistant).
Sark was the QB coach while Kiffin was the OC and Passing Game Coordinator at USC. In fact, Sark has coached QBs at every place he's been. Sark played for and is more of a Norm Chow offensive mindset, I think, than Kiffin is.

That video of him in the spring game was really interesting.

Regardless of who the OC is next year, I think the play calling next year will be different.
Having a true freshman at QB this year has limited the play calling. Hurts has had his issues with down the field passes and ball security. You have to believe that improves over the off-season and gives him access to more of the playbook.

I think Sark and Kiffin are both on par as their ability to call a game and both our two of the top OCs in the game. The difference and maybe the edge for Sark is he is more like Pruitt. Kiffin is a lot like Smart. Both understand the game and both can get fired up during games but Sark and Pruitt seem to get more energy out of their players. We have seen that result already with Pruitt and I think Sark brings that as well.
