Also on O we opened with 3 straight passes and had to punt. With is with this chit. It is like Kiff. is trying to outsmart things.

We have no QB. I think we are trying to see what we have.

since Bateman did not shine I expect to see coker start but with a short leash. I think the OL needs to do some major soul search on RT. I doubt we go for any FG's unless they are chip shots.

They need to dust off Brandon Greene from continuous OL obscurity and sew him to Dom Jax's hip as the TE. Seriously, why do they move him back to OL and make him put weight back on that he intentionally lost with no intentions to play him ? Keep him at TE.

It's not like Dakota Ball is lighting it up as a blocker, as it's laughable to see him in a 2 point stance...

I saw Piersbacher play LT with the second unit. Who knows, put him at RT and put someone else at LG?

Honestly, you could probably just flip the 2.

DJax is never gonna be a great passblocker, his money will be made as a runblocker. Never understood why there wasn't much competition for RT, as most could see Jackson's potential struggles from a mile away. I miss Shepherd.

Would give the Coker some tall arse guards though...

Blake Barnett starts after all other QBs suffer from a mysterious case of food poisoning.

It's sold at Walgreen's...

Just throwing that out there...

Just sayin'

Bobby Williams delegated to painting the stripes on the practice field.

i felt pretty good after last week. but once again a sloppy game against an inferior opponent has me second guessing the entire freakin program, sheesh . i'm hoping they treated this like a practice game and were just working on some specific stuff, that proly needs more work.

I think we see more Bateman if Jackson continues to struggle in pass blocking

I can't help but wonder how Blake Barnett could be that bad. I know he is a freshman and inexperienced, but how could he be much worse than what we saw today?

He was handpicked by Kiffin 3 o4 4 years ago to run his offense. I think he'd do alright.

No one should be surprised that we threw so much. I fully expected it. I didn't expect to see Coker and Bateman try to force some of the horrible throws they did. But as I said in the other thread, I think they were both trying to hard to show they were the #1 guy. McCarron and Sims did the same shite vs Kent State in 2011.

Pretty obvious we were trying to get Coker reps. We had no reason to run against a cupcake, we were never in danger.

I expect none. The really good play by the QBs against a legit team overrides a flat, looking ahead performance against a cupcake.

Dom Jackson is exactly what we all thought he was. Dominate run blocker, not a good pass protector. No reason to pull him if we were all fine with him going into the season, IMO.

I don't know if we have a kicker, but at this point frick field goals. Just go for it every damn time.

Thank you.

I swear I feel like the looming Ole Miss game has people too anxious to think

They want him to develop and RS if possible. He needs to put on weight and learn..

I get that, but many other teams start five star qbs as freshmen. Look at Josh Rosen at UCLA for example.

What would a freshman do that we didn't see yesterday? Make bad decisions with the ball? Cooper Bateman proved that isn't just a freshman thing. Not know the playbook? Coker was staring at the plays for way too long. Overthrow his receivers? Coker did a great job of passing to the other team on his deep ball.

Seriously. What rookie mistakes would Barnett have done that the other QBs didn't do already?
