I don't feel sorry for them, but I don't get enjoyment from it either.
They had some alumni that just really wanted to win. Our school has them too. I don't care enough about Ole Miss to be laughing at them over it.

Ole Miss fans should be pissed off at their dumbass boosters, AD, Freeze and staff that committed all the violations.
If you do that crap, you'll get caught at some point. All it takes is one disgruntled person with some evidence to get the NCAA started investigating.
Their program will be way down for years. Sux for their fans.
I remember how I was so pissed off at the people who did crap that got Bama in NCAA trouble.

Same here. Seriously bad, multi-year, scholarship reducing probation is demoralizing. Having a bad team sucks, knowing that your bad team is only going to get worse and that there is no hope in the near future is emotionally destructive.
I feel bad for their fans. I vividly remember the early 2000's and it was a miserable existence brought on by individuals that I had no control over. The cycles of helplessness, sadness and rage went around and around for at least 3-4 years.

I don't feel sorry for the guilty parties. They should suffer the consequences, but unfortunately innocent athletes and fans (who don't condone what they tried to get away with) suffer too. I do feel sorry for them.

One thing I haven't seen discussed in any public forum: Who are these Ole Miss boosters? Who are the bagmen? If I was an Ole Miss fan, that is what I would want to know because they should be disassociated from Ole Miss.

frick Freeze and his holier than thou attitude, I hope he gets what he deserves.
And I wanted Ole Miss's obvious blatant cheating stopped and punished. But I don't want their program destroyed and anybody that does, isn't thinking clearly or isn't very intelligent. That's cutting off your nose to spite your face. This automatically makes State the biggest benefactor and makes them better. It brings the SEC West as a whole, down. If Ole Miss gets the penalties everyone is saying, it will take them a decade to recover. They aren't Alabama. It's an uphill climb for them when the playing field is level. It's about to be very unlevel.

And our school is undoubtedly paying players too, as is every team in every power conference. Hell, three of the players we know were offered money by Ole Miss wound up going to other SEC schools. Can't help but laugh at all the people acting as though this is such immoral behavior.
All that said, I do get some amusement out of the sanctions because of how obnoxious their fans were during the back-to-back run. Needed to be put back in their place.

I had grown men in their 40's and even fricking STATE TROOPERS flicking us off after they won (us as in the MDB). One kid had to be taken out on a stretcher because his dumb drunk arse hurt himself after they tore down their own goalposts (that the school could barely afford to replace).
As terrible as it is to lose to LSU and the barn at least their fans don't show their asses like ole piss did.
