It wasn't too long ago that we were on the losing end of this rivalry. I don't care if the Viles have moral victories galore, and if they are convinced they're "back". The fact is that this team fought hard and did enough to win, and we are celebrating eight in a row. We took their coach and beat them on their field. I will never be disappointed with a W over the Viles.

In case you haven't noticed, this team doesn't have much in common with the title years. This team will not draw comparisons to NFL teams, or dominate in all of the statistics, or produce several first rounders for the draft next year. This team is more known for nail-biters than subjecting other teams to their will. If I had to bet, I'd say all of our remaining SEC games will be more of this type of play as opposed to the sheer dominance we saw against TAMU.

What this team does have is a lot of heart. Saban seems to be particularly fond of this team. He has encouraged the fans to not give up on this team, and that they will make us proud. They work hard. They play together. They stand up to adversity.

And you know what? That might just be enough to win out. Or it may not. Football season will be over before we know it, so let's stop projecting all of the bad things that might happen in future games and start enjoying all of the good things that have happened (and believe me, I am preaching to the choir here). We are 7-1 with all of our goals still in front of us. And we beat those lousy, good-for-nothing, toothless hillbillies by two scores.

Obviously, it's tough to pump sunshine all game. There are negatives throughout. But damn this is such a fun group to watch and they seem like they're having a blast.

They are fun to watch.

I think they still have some issues to clear up before I feel good about our chances to win the west. But so do the other teams as well...

The communications issues that seem to be prevalent really scare me going to LSU.

And I still think the DB play can possibly be our Achilles.

However, our kick coverage looked better tonight overall and that had been something that seemed to flare up.

All about improving week to week and I see that happening

Alabama won by 14 on the road against an SEC team. I'll take it any day. Alabama has everything in front of them.

They will have to play through it at Death Valley and I am sure the noise concerns of the crowd will be used over the next 2 weeks in practice

This I am least concerned about since none of the three teams are pass first. I think we match up better against LSU, MSU, and AU because they run first which still seems to be our strength on D.

My concern to be honest is the bye week. We don't seem to be as sharp after a bye but at least LSU's high will wear off a little.

Either way this team is more talented than LSU and we have the tools to win out.
