Do y'all think we have a realistic shot of finishing #4 in the SEC? I'm just looking at the teams that are gonna compete with us for that spot and they're just as average as we are honestly. Would love to get that first game bye in the SEC tourney.

Doubt it. I think UK, South Carolina, Florida, and Georgia are all at least a notch above us. We are in a big group of teams behind them. Not much separation between team 5 and team 12.

Yeah Georgia will probably get that spot. I would give anything to finish #4 tho. A top 4 SEC finish would look pretty good heading into next year with a top 10 class coming in.

I thought we would finish fourth this year.Stock is down at the moment but we should improve quite a bit as we go deeper into the season. So I am going to stick with the hope.

Haslametrics.com is a great site to use for rankings, stats, bracketology, and anything college basketball related. He goes deep into the stats and predicts the outcome of every game. He's actually a little higher on Alabama than most people. He has us ranked #56 and talks highly of our defense. His season prediction is us finishing 19-11. That's probably about where we'll be I think.

That is pre SECT record so that would mean getting another 10 wins in conference play.
Any person predicting 10+ more wins for a team not U.K./SC/UF is smoking some good stuff

By the way the reason he has Alabama much higher tha. kenpom is he doesn't really account for turnover rate

Unfortunately I have to agree. We haven't been nearly consistent enough to rattle off that kind of record. We've shown flashes of tournament caliber play- 1st half vs Texas, comebacks against UF and Vandy, and stretches vs Arkansas State and Miss State, but those flashes are often followed by the patented Bama scoring drought.

It's been a very long time, like 20 years, since I have felt confident in Alabama in a road game. It does not change today.
