We haven't imposed our will on a P5 defense with a pulse like that in a long time. It was a joy to watch.

Vandy isn't great, but their defense is tough and isn't a pathetic group of bums like A&M in 2013. They have excellent coaches and good scheme. They played their arse off. They just had absolutely no shot.

People forget about that all-world OL that year, but they took a few games to gel. They didn't exactly come out of the gates rampaging. It may have taken this unit some combat experience to find their legs. This looked like a coming out party for them.

How Cam Robinson won the Outland that year is beyond my comprehension. He has at least 500 yards in false start penalties alone.

Cam was not on the team that year (2012).

While I know you're comment was tongue and cheek, and agree with it totally......were you getting your years mixed up?

Last year was his Outland trophy year and, yes I think he progressively got worse over his career on false starts.

That was the offense I've been hoping for.

I love it.

Same! We are built as a pro style offense that was pretending to be a spread offense. I will say that it is only one game though. I hope that type of play calling continues.

When was the last time our backup had more passing yards than our starter under Saban?

USC in the opener last year.

Exactly my point - the only two other times it happened, the "backup" took the starting job

The other two times it happened we were losing/tied/close game. This time the backup came in because we were up by 40 frickin points.

The point remains that it's never happened that the actual backup threw for more than the starter in any game under Saban. We have a unique situation at QB

Left side of the line looked dominant. Jonah hasn't had the best of starts in pass protection, but he is a straight killer when we run it. Piersbacher and Bozeman killed it too.

I hope this is our identity on offense. We don't need Hurts to throw it 20+ times to win the game. Just run the ball, kill the clock, and throw a deep shot to Ridley when needed.

We've had games where the backup running back came in and doubled or tripled the starters yards in a blowout win.

It meant as much as this stat does.
