So basically all the things we sucked at last year.

Hurts excelled at quick passes last year, even if most of them were WR screens. He was usually right on point. His timing on slants was naturally off sometimes, but his slant game wasn't that bad either.

And our running game was top 10 in the country last year.

Yea - the charts show that Hurts was pretty good anywhere between behind the LOS to about 10 yards. From 10-20 he was average, and 20+ he was bad.

I actually think we are going to be even more effective running the ball this year. Hurts always kept the read last year even when they keyed on him. He will see this in 2017 and give it to the back when it happens resulting in better runs. An improved Hurts has got me pumped. We are gonna score a shite ton of points.

Most of my bold predictions came true last year

So here they are for the offense
-the offense will score more points than any other Bama team in history
-they will have the second most passing yards of any Saban Bama team
-most rushing yards and touchdowns of any Bama team ever

Absolutely. We should be excited about how dominant our offense is likely going to be with Hurts in 2017, not scared that Hurts is going to frick things up.

You can say what you want about his play in the NC game, but he actually did pretty decent, considering that he was going against a defense that, just the game before, shutout a team that was scoring 40 ppg, with a new OC taboot.

I don't think we'll be playing at a fast enough tempo to achieve these.

To have the most rushing yards of any Bama team ever we'd need over 4000 rushing yards.

To have the 2nd most passing yards under Saban we'd need 3200 passing yards. I'm pretty sure Aj never broke 3000.

I don't think we're putting up that many yards without playing up tempo.

AJ Broke 3000 yards once, and came a few yards from doing it twice.

But yeah, his predictions aren't likely, but that is why they are bold.

It comes down to execution, not tempo.

Only reason I'm making bold predictions again and making them known (by posting them on here) is because they've come true before.

I predicted before 2011, believe it or not, that our defense that year would be one of the greatest in the history of college football. Many people, including Bama fans, called BS on it.

And as I said already, a few of my bold predictions last year came true.

I'd just like to reiterate that Hurts isn't a problem - he's a freakin stud. Go watch his freshman highlights on YouTube if you need reminding. He made some nice throws all year long, and torched offenses all over the league with his dual threat ability. He's also clutch. Yall just forgot due to that last second heartbreak

You do realize he struggles mightily with completing a forward pass over 10 yards, right?

Thats kind of a problem in big boy football. I'm not downing the kid by any means but the truth is the truth.

And still led our offense in dick stomping most of the defenses we played, as a true freshman. Besides, he completed plenty of passes over ten yards last season. Enough to know that he is fully capable of developing a good passing game.

I don't think it's crazy to think that our offense will be dominant in 2017.

While our offense this past season had great performances and stretches during games, it reminds me of our basketball team's offensive play this season... We would go consecutive drives with little to no success moving the ball and weren't able to run the clock out or keep the defense of the field.

Basically, our offense in football this past year would become stagnant just like our basketball team has done this year

It's because of the style of offense we ran. That and the fact we couldn't complete a forward pass.

If it was because of the style, then it works against just about every team, but we needed a more consistent offense to keep Deshaun Watson and their offense off the field. Maybe we will get that this year.

This was a common trait with the 2014, and 2015 teams as well. That was a Kiffin characteristic.

I agree the overall success of the offense does, but as far as total yards stats, the number of plays you run plays a huge role.

To achieve both the most rushing yards by a Bama team and the second most passing yards by a Saban led Bama team, I think we'd need to run a ton of plays.

I could definitely see the most points one. If our defense can force as many three and outs as last year, an efficient offense should be able to score a ton. I just don't see the yards happening unless we continue to play fast or we have to drive the length of the field a lot because the defense is worse.

That's definitely bold.

Would need at least 4,028 rushing yards and 3,396 passing yards. So 7,424 total yards.

Current Alabama record is 6,783 total yards in 2014. So Alabama would have to beat its best offensive season ever by 641 yards.
