The best chance for Tua to make an impact is for him to earn early playing time as a backup.

He wasn't last season, but he may be this season. After spring and fall camps with Daboll (scheme, reading coverages, progressions, etc.), wrapped around summer workouts with Weinke and Werner (passing fundamentals), I think his passing game will be much improved. Saban said that's going to be a major focus. And like Saban also said, if Jalen becomes a viable threat as a passer, he will be very tough (as a legit dual threat) to defend.
