Fire gutted the inside of a popular Tuscaloosa restaurant early Sunday morning.

Firefighters said that the interior of Steamers Restaurant and Oyster Bar on Hargrove Road was a total loss.

“They will be closed for an extended amount of time while they go through some major construction,” said Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue EMS Chief Travis Parker.

No one was injured in the fire that was reported at 12:38 a.m. Sunday. The cause is still under investigation, but it does nothing appears suspicious, Parker said.

I suspect burned on purpose. Didn't they open a location on the strip?

I just saw that. And apparently 15st Diner is closing in a month because they lost their least.

On the bright side, we're getting a Panda Express

Yep, they sold that location to Wintzell's and moved to Hargrove. And yes they have a 2nd location on the strip where Crimson Cafe used to be

That sucks... it was easy in and out after games. A good way to let the traffic thin out.

I don't know the details. I'm planning on going there before they close. I'll see what I can find out.

It's crazy how quickly fires happen when the mortgage rubs up against the insurance policy

yes it is. they were at the location that just burned and then moved to the building where Wyntzels is at now. after a while they went back to the old building.

Maybe I shouldn't have tried to get the insurance money.

I think Northport diner is closed too. There is a construction dumpster in front of it.

I actually didnt know him until a year or two after that. I was talking to a girl who was friends with a girl I was hanging out with about people doing stupid things while intoxicated and driving. Said I heard a story about him doing that. She got awkward, and said, "ya, Im dating him"

Northport Diner is still open. I work over there and see people in it all the time. A Yougurt Mountain was recently added inside of it though.
