So Cornwell is out of the race?

So basically it's a three team race now. Didn't know Cornwell missed so much summer work. Seems like that would of leaked out before now.

I dont mean this as smartass as its gonna come across, but anyone with eyeballs knew cornhole was never gonna win the job vs the other 3 after ADay.

I did find it interesting CNS's comment about having 3 guys capable of being the starter. The context was Cornwell being limited during the summer but it still sounded like he was saying the other 3 are the only ones left in the race

Travis Reier said that you could tell there was something still going on with Cornwell's foot. He said he didn't look quite right rolling out.

That's what I gathered too. I'm starting to get on board with Hurts though except the part about him being a true freshman.

I'm growing fond of the thought of Hurts or Barnett at QB even if they make some youthful mistakes. The QB is going to be called upon to carry more of the load this year and I'm not confident that Bateman can do that.

Agree. Hurts or Barnett will set us up at QB for at least 2-3 years. Whichever one does not start though will transfer out

To be fair, he's a true freshman with around 8 months experience with the team. He's not your average true frosh off the street.
I think, if he's the best option, go with him regardless of his age.

Cornwell might be a good QB in a less competitive FBS conference on a team with lower expectations. Like an Oklahoma State or Cal.
