I think Minkah's long term spot is safety, whether it be in Tuscaloosa or the NFL, but I don't think it can happen it 2 weeks.
They'll probably do the least to move anyone unless they decide that that combo doesn't work.

I'm more concerned with what Eddie meant to the team outside of just his Safety position. He was an excellent punt returner and had incredible field vision on the pick sixes. Even the ones where he wasn't the ball carrier. He's the one that told Minkah to come out and follow him on the 100 yrd pick six.
On top of that, he was a leader on that defense and for the whole team. He's the one that damn near started a fight on the sidelines because the team wasn't focused. I just hope he's able to be on the sidelines for the remainder of the year to help keep the fire lit.
Eddie will still be on the sideline, he can still provide leadership to the team

Texas A&M did a great job scheming to get their talented receivers isolated on our safeties not named Eddie Jackson on Saturday. I was uneasy every time. I don't think we play another team with that kind of WR depth in the regular season, but that's a definite concern in a playoff if we were to get there. I think Hootie will do well, but it's not possible to replace someone like Eddie and there be no drop off.

Well, there might be some scuttlebutt on this after all.

Wow, didn't think we could actually do it until spring. Great we have an off week.

We'll see how it plays out. It makes sense to me though. Minkah, at least so far, has not shown that his future is at CB. It is likely at Safety. I think I'd rather have Minkah at Safety and TB at Minkah's old spot than have Hootie replace Eddie. Not a knock on Hootie, but Minkah and TB are both better players and it is all about putting best team on the field.

Minkah at safety and TB at star looking more and more possible. Good D really

I really hope tb sees this and grabs it for his chance at redemption. I'm sure not being around for the postseason run.last year eats at him

looking more and more likely that Minkah drops back to Safety, which I'm convinced is his natural position.

Tony Brown having a good game against LSU would only amplify the melt around here. I am on board with that

A pick-6 would crash the rant.

I'm excited about TB getting his shot. Hopefully I don't feel different come Sunday.

Brown might be the most athletic player in the secondary, just has to get the mental part down and look out.

@ multiple folks in thread:
Bama under Saban does not and has never played Free Safety and Strong Safety. We play Left Safety and Right Safety, as Saban has stated many, many times.
