I'm assuming you think that play had a man blocking scheme.

However.

Did you watch the clip? That play was definitely a zone. He even says it.

There is a misnomer about zone blocking that you can't be smash mouth and physical while running a zone scheme. That isn't true. 2012 was a zone scheme. In fact, we have run a zone scheme since Saban hired Pendry. So basically, since day 1.

Story on Alabama and the inside zone written before the 2012 BCS Title against ND.

Zone isn't the problem, its been a lack of talent and development, because of the hole Stoutland left us in. He took Pendry's goodies and profited from them.

I'm not saying Cristobal is the answer, but I think the line is slowly getting better this year. I don't understand Camrob's regression from last year though.

Meh. Sophomore slump. Andre Smith got one bad in '07. He came back and played like an All-American in '08.
