Says the issue is "between the ears." No mention of the widely proliferated back injury story, which seems odd to me because I hadn't seen anything to suggest that story wasn't credible.

From what I understand his back injury was a problem before he came to Alabama, and then it flared up on him last year. However, I've heard he's healthy now. To me though it looks like he's lost all his confidence with the exception of kicking PATs. And he's looked shaky on a few of those as well. God help us if he misses a PAT because he may never recover from that

TBH his confidence level is probably shot after our own fans booed him last week. It will be hard to come back from that.

But yeah I agree it's all mental.

That is pretty shitty. I didn't know that happened, of course I generally leave the room to grab a beer when we are attempting a field goal nowadays.

No offense to you but when you are 8 of 17 going back to last October or whatever booing on last Saturday was a foregone conclusion and he has sucked for almost a year and a half now. Not saying the booing was right or justified but when you already suck and miss a 24 yarder it's going to happen everywhere you go. Even if the back up isn't as good it's way past time to sit him.

He was doing terribly before that happened. Also, same thing happened to Tiffin in 2006 and he recovered.

Yeah, I would never boo a college kid.....but c'mon man, this slump is getting ridiculous.

I don't agree with the booing ever in college but when you suck this much on this level it's going to happen almost everywhere eventually.

If Coker or Bateman sucked this bad or if we had one of our DB's who kept getting burned repeatedly, they would be sitting. We obviously have no Plan B right now. Saban has no choice but to stick with it, bolster his confidence, and hope he can pull out of it.

I booed Chris Capps and fully stand by that decision.

Vince Wilfork hammered home a few field goals on hardknocks wearing what appeared to be about a size 19 cleat... Anyone here think we might need some of these points this weekend? I know i would like them... I'm not saying we need to bench or boo the kid but It's time to perform. Lets go AG

Seriously, should Bama fans cheer when he misses another 24 yarder?

We don't need fragile minded kickers.
You think there is pressure kicking a field goal near halftime of the MTSU game, or a last minute attempt in an SEC game?

We are living in the participation trophy culture now.

Our own fans booed us on occasion when I played, and that was high school. Booing him during starting lineups was uncalled for, obviously. But I can see why people did it when he missed yet another easy field goal. Do people think if he doesn't get booed, he won't know that he's screwing up and his confidence won't be affected?

Sometimes I wonder if the Kick 6 really fricked with his head.

Me too. Still, at this level you've got to be able to put it out of your mind and perform.

And I didn't realize fans booed him when starting line-ups were announced. I encourage the fans at the game Saturday to abstain from doing that. Good chance we'll need him to make a FG or two and that's not going to help.

Remember Tiffin's melt down in the 2006 Arkansas game? Granted it was Arkansas and not the Iron Bowl with a national championship season on the line. Yet, he was able to put it away and was money for us the rest of his college career. In fact, he was outstanding....he didn't let that game define him.....

I was there, and it embarrassed me for Bama fans to boo their own players. Can't talk shite to rival fans that do this any more.

I feel like years from now people will forget it was Adam who missed it and blame Cade for it.

Nope, they'' be too busy blaming Cade for missing the other very makeable FGs he badly shanked before that. He was so damn bad we had to keep going for it on 4th down.

Dude literally is the reason we didn't win three in a row. Now he (or Bobby Wiliiams?) has passed along their "tradition" or "will of missing".

I don't feel sorry for Cade and I certainly don't feel sorry for Adam Griffith. I wish we would bench him already before he misses a serious kick and the death threats come out.

When that happens, it won't be Griffith I blame. It will be Saban. Saban knows he is a mental midget and would miss a fish in a barrel. We need to see what other options we have sooner, rather than later when it's too late.

We should have tried that last game to be honest once he made that first miss.
