although they killed off the Tigers and Tide forums years ago because of constant trolling, yesterday they shut down all of their forums.
I started posting on forums through al.com's HS board back in 2003 when Hillcrest had Markus Manson and several others that signed with Alabama. Those were the days prior to al.com being a big time site.
They had a terrible format and were painful to look at, but they were good for pissing people off in the days before this board, TideSports and other Bama sites that popped up over the last 10 years.

Did you try and weasel your way in and become a mod on al.com and that's why it died?

That's about when I started posting on forums with al.com. Haven't been there in a long time. I hated the format they used back then.

I posted on the ESPN MBs back around 2003-04. Then they changed the format and it was horrible. There was a small group of us that consisted of several different SEC fanbases that started an obscure MB that lasted for a few years and then died out.
I tried a few Bama boards not named BOL or TI and just couldn't get interested in them. You need an assortment of fans on a board to keep things interesting, IMO.

ESPN's MB was awesome. Sucked they went to facebook. Still remember old Bill Ontario spamming the shite out of the boards.

I cut my teeth there as BamaInHoustonRTR, heard about TDrant from there though i lurked for a year or so. And joined Tidesports after that. Then that became Woolly. Which is also gone.

Im still a bol member because I forgot to cancel, but almost never go there anymore. The last time I made a joke thread, I ended up with the most insane, ranting email from Abrell. And I can't stand absolute homerism. I can just sieve through the trolls.
Right before or after Saban was hired, I was on scout as AuSociologyMajor. It confused a lot of dumb people, and pissed of a lot of auburn fans.

Don't think I remember him. There were so many people on them back then. Even the NFL boards were flooded.
I honestly never invested much time into them though like I did here. I just remember that Bill Ontario guy spamming the shite out of every single board and laughing my arse off.

Not all that many on the Bama boards. This was pre 2009 NC and the team boards werent anything crazy.

Yeah see I really didn't get into message boards until recently.
I remember Tidesports before it turned into a gd rivals site. It's unfortunate because that was THE best Alabama forum. Rivaled Shaggy, GatorSports, etc..

No, but i did get warned several years ago for posting the lead administrators name on the forum repeatedly. Lost my main account at that time and changed from "AllHateMe" to AHM21. Ken Booth was the guy's name.
That's when I left for another forum. There was this guy named GREGTHEFAN. He was 35, a paper delivery boy who worked the Dippin Dots stand on Friday nights. I made a Dippin Dots avatar surrounded by all the teams that had beat his team (Vestavia). He actually contacted Dippin Dots and I got a cease and desist from them via email.
