I've been looking around on a few draft forums/websites and in recent weeks have started to see Foster's name thrown around a good bit as a 2nd/3rd round pick. He's definitely impressed over the course of the season (I never thought he'd be this good in pass coverage) and I could see him leaving.

Oddly the thought had never crossed my mind that he was even eligible. Feels like just yesterday the Aubies were crowing over their recruiting victory .

I think for optimum positioning, he needs another year. Look what is did with Ragland, and many believe Foster has more talent. Reggie went from "Hey, this guy is really good" to "OMG, he's dominant" in a year.

I can't deny he could go and still get drafted around what you said. He does have 2 kids I believe, so that does play a factor.

I guarantee his 10 yard split will be top 3 at worst for his position at the combine, his burst is elite.

I personally think he would make for a good safety.

He'll fly up draft boards as the draft gets closer. He's turned into an amazing LB.

I HOPE he's coming back. I think he's seriously going to consider leaving. Maybe Ragland will tell him how glad he is that he stayed one more year.

As already stated, I have been totally blown away this year by how well he has been in coverage. That will give him a lot of attention from scouts and analysts.

I say he should come back. He's not a first round lock...yet. A good SEC championship game and bowl run could change that, but he needs another year I think to develop like Ragland has.

He is not as instinctive as one would like. Very good to great closing speed for a LB. He needs a year as The Man in a Saban defense. He has a chance to play himself into a 1sr Rd pick next year. He will thrive at the next level if he is paired with a strong signal caller to line him up correctly. I don't think he will be good as a signal calling Mike in a 4-3. But pair him with a smart ILB in a 3-4 and he will contribute immediately. He definitely has the talent to be a 3 down LB in the NFL.

Hope he comes back. Wouldn't blame him if he declared.

This x1000. It's amazing how much he has progressed this season. Coming out of HS Coverage was a supposed weakness for him.

Last year after the West Virginia game if you told me a year later he'd be a pretty damn good coverage backer I'd have probably never believed you.

Reuben putting in that work

I think with another year he could become a top 10-15 pick.

I still contend that his HS highlight reel is one of the top 3 I have ever seen. It's between clowney, Reuben, and the kid from Oregon (mamba nickname) that played for Compton. In nearly a 4 minute HL reel for Reuben there was only one tackle where the other player didn't travel backwards.

Reggie Bush's film was cray cray. U are thinking of De'Anthony Thomas as far as that goes. Andre Smith had some pretty sick film in HS.

Do y'all think Derrick Henry is gone to the draft as well?

Henry's draft stock isn't going to improve with another year in college so he should probably go. His only "weakness" draft wise is not being much of a receiving threat.

He's not nearly ready for the pros IMO, this is his first year as a big time contributor on defense, he still has much to learn, but he is a great talent and playing very well this year.

foster's gone, imo ... he's physically ready to take the next step ... he'll put on another 10-15 lbs using whatever semi-peds are allowed or ignored ... he's quick enough laterally, which will be proved at the combine, to handle interior lb situations ... and his recklessness that is now semi-controlled is an attribute ... his combine will be enough to make him a 3rd rounder or so ...

Foster has what appears to be a pretty clear cut decision (barring injury of course). Leave this year and go at best at the end of the 2nd round or stay one more year, be an immediate favorite for the butkus, and potentially be the first lb taken next year. Unlike henry Reuben can vastly improve his draft stock with another year. That said he has children so it may be worth it to move on

Foster can also get himself injured again.

Given his history, second round is pretty damn good.
