Actually Depth Chart reads this way

Cooper Bateman/Blake Barnett/Jalen Hurts

Yeah, but you know Saban only gives 2 QB's real game prep during game week. He's stated it many times over the years. Not enough time or reps to get 3 ready.

I was being funny, I have no idea what they are going to do. I hope we don't find out the hard way with one of these guys.

Those I know inside have always said CNS will not start a true freshman. Same people said in the spring Cornwell was out

How has he shite his pants 2 years in a row? He was redshirted last year and has only ever played in scrimmages.

He has shite his pants this year. I just assumed he did last year as well because of the reports. Easily could could be wrong about that, though. There is zero way to claim he hasn't been royally fricking up this fall.

just for the sake of another possible angle.

I think one thing that's factoring is Barnett being slotted at number 2 is his recruitment.
A kids flips from Notre Dame to Bama and gets beat out before he ever gets a shot.
Would have been hard for Barnett to stick around.Coaches may have felt he needs more time,
to be what they envision when they worked so hard to get him to flip from ND.

Again im just bouncing a few things off the wall.

Also kiffin wanted Barnett to win it last year, but Hurt has him looking over his shoulder this year.
It would not surprise me that they feel that pressure from hurt was a contributor to his pressing to much.

they may feel he play better & relaxed with he locked in at the 2 spot and chalenging

I'm not disagreeing with this either. If the stats are true (which it sounds like Boz actually watched a scrimmage so I'm guessing they are) then yeah sounds like BB has played very poorly. I'm just not willing to write a guy off before his RS freshman season even starts because of how he has played in scrimmages. Looks like Saban isn't willing to do that either.

I love it and now we know why Saban makes so much vs. all the insiders. Not directed at anyone because I was pulling for Hurts but it goes to show until Saban says it no one knows.

I agree. I'm just a bit nervous that the 2 guys who will play Saturday couldn't produce a single point in the last scrimmage and combined for 6 or 7 turnovers.

Sims was doing that shite in the Spring, not the week before the opening game. I have no doubt that they can improve and play better and all that. But it's a fact that Alabama is about to play 2 guys at QB who have looked MISERABLE.

Easy money on this game because we sure won't cover with these two. The saying to see who is a gamer, is saying they suck something aweful, but maybe they will play better in a game lol

Saban on QBs: We're sort of down to two guys. Cooper Bateman and Blake Barnett are the two guys we're trying to get ready to play.

Time to start drinking.

The last few years we've had a returner and a blocker back there. I'd imagine Diggs will field the majority of the kicks and Stewart be the last up man. He's a punishing blocker

I guess if Cecil, Andrew, TI, 24/7 and me are all wrong so be it.

I never heard any of the 247 guys or Cecil say Hurts would start and they have been on the radio at least one of them everyday for the past few weeks it seems. They all seem to agree Hurts is the future of the team and even Cecil said the other day it will be hard to keep him off the field this fall with his talent as he compared him to a young D Watson as a freshman, but even Hurts and the 247 guys all believed Bateman would start against USC.

Now Bone who knows with him as I believe PF has a higher FB IQ than Bone.

If Lane does what he did the past 2 seasons with this lot, then he deserves a premier gig.
I will be ecstatic if coop runs this Sat., and I think he will.
Edit, I hope he does.

Why do people always mess this up? The prediction wasn't that he starts, but plays in the game and yes every single one of them did say that as did I.

Link to Cecil because I heard him either Thursday or Friday last week on the radio and he did not say that. Not saying you are wrong but would link a link to it if there is one.

You will have to do the leg work, I know suttles, and many others said they thought he would play against USC in some capacity.

I forget how Cecil worded it but he basically said it would be hard to keep Hurts off the field this season. I don't think he specifically mentioned the USC game, though I may be wrong.
