I disagree. They won't waste a year for Hurts to get garbage snaps. Barnett will be the de facto two unless Bateman goes down. Then the staff has a decision to make. Do you pull the redshirt off Hurts because he gives you the best chance to win or do you go with Barnett and save Hurts for the future. I think it's the latter. Barnett is fully capable of getting the job done, so he's the #2 guy. If Cornwell is #4 this fall, he's outta here in Dec.

Hurts can be the #2 guy and never take garbage snaps. Meaning like AJ in 2009 he would only take snaps if McElroy got injured.

I think Saban and Kiffin have different opinions on the starter. I think Saban wants Bateman and Kiffin wants Barnett. No info on this just my gut feeling. Either way Hurts ends up 3rd and redshirts and Cornwell transfers.

I agree with this. Hopefully Barnett takes the step

Barnett has too much talent to be passed up unless he had some sort of off the field issue. At worst I imagine Barnett is the #2.

I have a gut feeling that Cornwell and Barnett transfer without ever seeing a snap at Bama...

So this is what I know, Kiffin said Bateman right now because of experience and Hurts there after. He never even mentioned Barnett or Cornwell. This will be another back and forth QB battle trust me I've played this game for years with my sources. But that is straight from the OC mouth. That's all I have.

He also has Bo backing up Harris, so...

I would love for Bateman to be another Blake Sims and come in and surprise us all with his better-than-previously-shown downfield passing ability, but it would be just that - a surprise.

From the limited action ive seen Barnett is the best passer on the team right now. Kinda hard to judge when bateman and cornwell had tim williams in their face 2 seconds into every snap, but barnett looked legit in the spring game, both passing and scrambling. Best cast scenario is he wins the job. I just think bateman has it

He is by far the worst. Floats passes, lacks arm strength, and makes terrible decisions ( long time issue).
That is not me saying this either.

1. Barnett
2. Bateman
3. Hurts
4. Cornwell
But, who knows at this point. I never thought Blake Sims would take a snap at QB. That's the only time I've ever been wrong though. ;)

He does, watch his sideline pass or the floaters he throws. You will see don't take my word for it or the staff for that matter.

From what I've seen and heard, he has major issues. A Day showed some of them. Again don't take my word for it, let's just wait and see.

That's nothing to brag about
