80%. Supposed done deal with announcement coming after the SECCG.

I'm not sure any of our fans have enough confidence in the goober running the show to go ahead and seal this up that quickly.
But I'd be happy if it were true.

My take, if KS does not take a HC job this time then he never will. There are too many openings not to be offered and not to accept.
Word, and I have no idea how trustworthy, it was done a few weeks back. At least two coaches were told that they would be retained (were not called off of the recruiting trail). Kirby's demand was either Muschamp or Pruitt as DC.

yeah that's the word. Apparently mcgarity doesn't like either though and wants to go in another direction, *supposedly* that was one of kirby's requests that he could have 1 of the 2 as his DC.
Mcgarity hasn't really proven to come through big with anything of this nature which is why we're all worried. If we get mullen, simply because they worked together at UF, I'm gonna lose it. If we end up with smart and pruitt, plus mcclendon and brown are retained, I'll be happy.

I wish him well. Hard to hold it against him if he takes the job.

Good luck, mean it.
If you get your wish I will be a fan, Kirb has earned our respect.

this thread is surprisingly (to me, anyway) ignored...are yall hearing anything your way? By all accounts it looks like he's our guy, I figured there'd be some scuttlebutt on here about it.
Just rumors? Worried? DGAS?

Not worried but I do care. Sort of, it is time grasshopper. Just read a little blurb that he is not entertaining any talk of other coaching opportunities. Saban will find a good replacement if and when it happens but KS certainly has been special.

you think that's just PC talk since they have the SECCG this weekend?
Posted on 12/1/15 at 8:17 am to WG_Dawg
Yep, "clutter" as Saban refers to it.

At first I was anti-Kirby unless we whiffed on our top targets. But the more I think abotu how much of a bumbling idiot mcgarity is, the more I want to just lock up kirby and get it over with. Hanging onto pruitt would be outstanding as well.

I feel that the less you hear the better GA's chances of landing Kirby. He has been a great D.C. and will be missed, but people that that don't want people they have associated with succeed are on borrowed time for their success. Saban is such a CEO type that I would be surprised if he hasn't had at least two names to replace Kirby for at least the last three years. That doesn't mean those names haven't changed over time. Happy for Kirby either way.

If Smart stays at Bama this time, he will replace Saban.
If Smart goes to Georgia and is successful, he will never leave. If he is unsuccessful, Bama won't hire him.
So anyone thinking they would like Smart to be the guy that replaces Saban but wants to see him get some HC experience first better hope that he doesn't get the UGA job.

That's what he's paying Sexton for.

Honestly, I am hoping that UGA fricks this up and USCe comes out the winner. Then we can poach Kirby from them whenever Saban retires.
Wouldn't you rather have Mullen instead?

Radi Nabulsi was on a local sports talk radio show and, according to his sources (maybe a booster?), Kirby had agreed in principal but hasn't signed anything...he thought it was about 95% done...the host of the show had also said that he'd heard something similar...take it for what it's worth though...

i for one would be totally shocked if kirby isnt the uga hc. and i wsh him well, except for when he faces bama lol.
my biggest concerns are on the recruits and coaches that may go with him. yes i'm sure saban has a plan. its just a bt worrisome until it all unfolds.
