This is what the new Corner will look like next to Tutwiler. There will be a new Supe Store and Starbucks apparently.

Man I really miss Ttown. I feel like I'm not even going to recognize it when I go back and it's only been since May 2014.

I hear ya, though while I dislike some changes, I like a few... the new corner store is one of them.

That'll be really nice. Along with that, the new YMCA will be built on Bryant Drive. Also, the council voted 5-1 on the approval of a 5-star hotel along the River. It'll be Tuscaloosa's first 5-star hotel and will come with a lot of good packages during football season, will have bars and a restaurant, and a boat to take you along the Black Warrior River. Here's a look at the proposed hotel

Downtown has changed completely the last 5 years. They really need to look at improving parking because you can hardly find anywhere to park at night because its so packed. The new project on the corner of University and Greensboro will make it even more lively.

Just looked up the story on this new hotel. It will be located on the opposite side of the river from campus near the Cypress Inn. They will water taxi fans on game days across the river to campus. Pretty cool. It should be completed by early 2017.

Hotel Indigo will be open before that near the Ampitheater on the water as well. That will give us four nice hotels near downtown/campus.

That's funny that you say that because we are getting a new place in Temerson Square called The Wheelhouse Pub. They are calling themselves a barcade featuring food, sports, and an arcade. Sounds like an awesome place that should do well if they do it right.

Food- Depalmas(Dinner), Five(burger/brunch), Chucks(sushi), Southern Ale House, Avenue Pub(Burger), Hooligans

Drink-Alcove, Loosa Brews(arcade and ping pong table/100+ beers), Tin Top(sports bar), Black Warrior(brewery), Wilhagens

Also want to say Hokkaido is garbage! If you want good sushi, don't go here.

Southern Ale House is the shite. Willigans is my favorite bar downtown because its not always crowded with college kids. Also has a good selection of crafts from around the nation.

This is a solid list. Big fan of Avenue Pub. They have an awesome burger and a great happy hour. And I prefer Druid City beer to Black Warrior. Black Warrior is a nicer place but their beer sucks.

Knew it wouldn't take long for the Jupiter Bar to be replaced after announcing it was closing. I love the name. Now the only question is if they will renovate it

New music venue on the Strip- Druid City Music Hall

Also new entertainment district got approved for downtown. Will allow open container law within the district.

Entertainment district gains approval from city council.
