New bar, called "Brass Tap", coming to Midtown Village in 2017

quote:

The Brass Tap will have up to 60 craft beers, including local craft beers, on tap with more than 300 varieties of imports -- music and entertainment will also be part of the location’s offerings.

Awesome . This and World of beer opening in 2017.

Also a parking deck planned for 4th and 23rd behind PNC bank is in the planning stage.

Much needed!

I wonder if we have the market to handle adding two large chain craft beer places. I hope they don't crash and burn. I'll continue to support the local guys at Loosa.

They should be fine. Their locations usually have a large volume of traffic and they're a prominent chain.

That parking deck was so needed. Especially since Allied Reality is developing these lofts right near that area:

Midtown Village is an odd location for a beer bar. Maybe if they did growler fills to-go to service that part of town. And maybe they do and the article doesn't mention it.

Just doesn't seem like a destination place to me. Probably be filled with bored husbands waiting for the wives to finish shopping.

I was hoping Avenue Pub was going to get 4th and 23rd so they would have a larger spot, but I heard someone else got it. That is a pretty great large spot on the corner.

That parking deck right there is going to be awesome.

I'm not big into country music, but I tried to go to the concert. Damn ticket scalpers bought it out in minutes.

I had brunch there last weekend and that chicken biscuit and gravy was crazy good. The burger is still my favorite though. They also have my favorite happy hour in town. $3 craft pints and $5 small burger and fries.

Anyone playing in the Home Depot College Gameday Cornhole Challenge on Friday?

It's going to be at the Walk of Champions, winners get backstage passes to Gameday and the top 4 teams win Cornhole boards.

City council is going to vote on the Allied Reality development for 4th and 22nd. Really hope it's passed, that's a nice project for the area.

CBDB is playing again at Druid City the day before the Iron Bowl. Should be a fun show as always, but I am worn out on these guys.

University construction: Board of Trustees gave approval recently for a major interior AND exterior renovation to HM Comer Hall.

Check out some of the other renderings if you can. Proposal for new freshman residence hall over near lakeside dining. Will include a service deck and a small amphitheater that faces Palmer Lake.

The H.M Comer renovation is exciting
