I'm glad they are getting a lot of love. I'm buddies with the drummer, bassist, and sax/moog player. Talented as frick, they are.

Actually met with the Saxophone player before they played and while the band Gravy played. Really cool guys. Unfortunately they moved out of Tuscaloosa last week and moved to Nashville now, but yeah man, they were awesome. Might go see them in Birmingham.

Paul(drummer) and David Ray(Bassist) used to play in a three piece band called the Hypsys(prounounced Hip-sees) and they were so damn good. The guitarist, Bo, is also insanely good at his instrument, but they had some falling outs, and he moved to Athens, and still plays around there. Miss seeing all three of them play.

Yeah man, Ray showed out in a few songs at bass. Really talented player.
Hoping they come back to Tuscaloosa again.

You should man. I'll be there, it's my birthday tomorrow.

I wish man, but I'm attending the festival tomorrow. Actually covering it for a project, then going to see Dumpstaphunk at Druid City Music Hall.
Lotta cool shite happening in town that I can't pass up.
Would love to hit Birmingham sometime though. They're having a plethora of great bands coming their way, especially at Iron City.

We're getting a holler and dash on the Strip.

I ate at the one in Homewood on Saturday.
I'd give it a bout a 7.
The service was great - they have like 500 employees.
The fried chicken, pepper jelly, and goat cheese were magnificent on my biscuit.
My gripe is that the actual biscuits were sub-par, and that is what they are supposed to specialize in. They weren't very fluffy, and if I'm paying 10 bucks for a chicken biscuit, I need a kickass, fluffy, moist biscuit. I've had better biscuits at Hardees, easily.
Maybe it was because we went towards the end of the shift, about 30 minutes before close.
My only other gripe was that the tots we ordered were pretty plain Jane. They weren't bad, but since this place seems to put emphasis on "gourmet," they should dazzle the tots up a little more. The sauce that it came with was great. My buddy who went yesterday said that the cheese grits are really tasty.
Their coffee is great.
I will definitely go their in the future, but they could stand to lower their prices a couple of bucks.

Have you tried Alabama Biscuit in Cahaba Heights behind Miss Myra's? Their biscuits are phenomenal and they do some really inventive biscuit sandwiches. Really pricey for breakfast though(most biscuit sandwiches are around $10) but really nice treat every now and then. I forget where they get their pork sausage(it's local) but it's the best sausage I've ever had.

Sounds great. I will have to try it out. I actually have never been to Miss Myra's either. I need to check both out.

How is Freddy's? I've never been to one. Looks similar to steak n shake though.

I took some pics of some of the development around town today. I'll upload them later. Great to see so much activity going on around T-Town.

Lots of road work going on. Will be nice when they finish the turn lanes at McFarland and 15th. Seems like it has been going on forever. I'm also looking forward to the new entrance/exit on Jack Warner to the University. It appears pretty close.

Wish they would have a continuous flow of traffic on McFarland

Are there any plans to do anything with McFarland mall (besides kill it with fire)?
