Not just for you, Warrior, any updates on Adam Griffith's back/neck issues? I gotta feeling we will need a few field goals against USC.

Nevermind the short prep period for a very good offense either. Bama has had all offseason for this one.

CLK even said after the CG that the first question his son had was "how many days til they play USC."

CLK is going to make it personal.

Can't wait

I don't give a damn who starts. I wrestled the last two off seasons with who the starting QB would/should be. I'm done. Coach Saban is the greatest coach in the history of this sport. He and the staff will make the right call on Saturday. Just hope I can watch and this storm in the gulf doesn't ruin the weekend.

BOL practice notes

quote:

Alabama was back on the practice field Saturday afternoon for its 24th fall practice and final practice before game week. The Crimson Tide players practiced indoors and in full pads on a sunny, 93-degree afternoon. Here are several tidbits from the media viewing portion of Alabama's Saturday practice session in Tuscaloosa: - For a second-straight day, at least in the media viewing periods, Bradley Bozeman lined up at center with the first-team offensive line while Ross Pierschbacher swapped places with him to move over to right guard. - Alphonse Taylor appeared to be limited Saturday, although Nick Saban said the guard would be day-to-day with a minor injury. Brandon Kennedy lined up at right guard with the second offensive line Saturday. - Freshman running back B.J. Emmons wore a No. 21 jersey for the first time, although USC does not have a running back that wears No. 21. Bo Scarbrough, Joshua Jacobs and Emmons received reps during the first- and second-team offensive lines’ run-blocking drills against a scout-team defense toward the end of Saturday’s indoor practicing viewing periods. - Junior college defensive lineman Jamar King appeared to be one of the scout-team defensive linemen. - When the tailbacks were catching passes from the quarterbacks, Scarbrough, Damien Harris and Emmons made up one line. The quarterback line(s), however, remained unchanged from the first day of fall camp. - Linebacker Rashaan Evans appeared to be limited once again, standing off to the side during individual drills. - For a second consecutive day, there was no sign of redshirt freshman linebacker Joshua McMillon. - Running back Ronnie Clark (Achilles) shed his black, no-contact jersey for the first time in Saturday’s practice. *** What’s next: Alabama will be off Sunday before returning to practice Monday at 3:30 p.m. CT. Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban will also hold a press conference at noon Monday, followed by player interviews.

It was raining at the 2nd scrimmage and everyone forgets hurts and Barnett did well in the 1st scrimmage. 1 scrimmage doesn't tell the tale.

I have footage of Bateman from the second scrimmage. It was leaked earlier today.

I have been a huge fan of Emmons since HS when I saw him play I think he has a chance to be the #2 RB this year behind Bo. I said it last year he would come in and be special. He plays with a chip on his shoulder and a desire to win. He loves making contact and his HS coach told me he spends a lot time in the film room watching film and learning the plays.

I love how UGA fans were not concerned he decommitted from them and said the staff cooled on him.

Let's play it safe and bench Jalen Hurts for Game 1, Hurts is too turnover prone. Cooper Bateman is the safe pick.

Agreed on Emmonds. As excited about him as any RB since Trent out of high school.

Somewhat disappointing to see Jamar King on the scout team. Seems like we need one more DL to step up, thought he was the guy. Looking at:

Tier 1: Allen, Tomlinson, Payne, Hand
Tier 2: Josh Frazier
Tier 3 AKA No experience: OJ Smith,Q. Williams, Dwight, D. Ball
Wildcard: R. Davis (taking tier 2 reps)

Not a good sign if King isn't in the mix IMO. As far as the tier 3 guys, I think Quinnen Williams will be a good one.

Lastly, Really hoping Josh McMillon is healthy and/or out of the dog house. Looks like a grown man in practice videos. Kind of surprised he stayed at MLB since he's so damn big, but if they get his weight right maybe he can stick. We'll see

#2 RB this year behind Bo

TIFWIW but William "Redfish" Barger as well as Drew DeArmond think Bo is actually the #2 back. Apparently he has been struggling in pass pro and has had a rough fall camp. It may be why he was working in that Pass pro drill with the two freshmen today.

Just sharing info that I hadnt seen posted here yet. It may also be what Cecil was hinting at with the tweet about the RB competition. Bo has disappointed some folks but its early...
