I'm very eager to see Jalens passing game development under Sark. Could be huge for Sarks career. Take a very gifted athlete and turn him into a QB.

From a coaching standpoint, I don't understand why we continued to go hurry up, when it was obvious we needed to shorten the game.

I agree, allowing 99 plays was our downfall, the D was just exhausted.

If they were getting away with calls then so were we. It's football. Ticky tack calls are made multiple times in every game. Over come that shite. Refs weren't singling us out.

^^^^This. I love how people are quick to bitch out the refs on the picks but were strangely silent on the targeting no calls.

It wasnt targeting. Herbstreit clearly has Bama fatigue but the ESPN rules expert said himself that it wasnt targeting. The receiver was not defenseless and Tony did not hit with the crown of the helmet...

Don't get too excited, he couldn't do that with Jake Locker.

If Bama does not go hurry up, and throw every second or third play into the stands stopping the clock Clemson runs out of time.

This game will forever be known as the hurry up and lose the title game.

If you are going to give the HC the well deserved accolades, you better damn well give him the blame too.

He needs to be like the Bear and observe. He cannot coach DBS anymore. You get a good QB and good WR against our DBS it's not pretty. Has been for sometime now, NFL de bamas our DBS, because it doesn't relate in today's game.

Not on Ansley either. All on the position coach , it just happens to be our HC too.

Again, I am saying he needs to supervise the program, and thats it

I wouldn't draft a CB from Bama.

I would , hell , the talent is pro talent. Last night Clemson receivers were physical. We could have adjusted and been that way too. The refs would've let it go, but no adjustment. Why? because the HC is our DB coach, and no one says anything. I wouldn't either, he is my boss. Up to nick to make that call not T Browns

One angle that won't be discussed: firing Kiffin may very well have cost us the game but not for the reason you think. In an interview before the game Saban was asked about his relationship with Sark in reference to the "arse chewings" he had with Kiffin. Sabans response was (paraphrased) that he wouldn't do that with Sark yet because they were just starting to work together on the sidelines and he would be more supportive with Sark.
When it was evident that things were going south in a hurry in the mid to late 3rd and Sark was still passing more than he was running and going fast, etc. Kiffin would have received instructions to slow the frick down and run the ball in the form of an arse chewing. Saban never appeared to involve himself with Sark and the offense.
Maybe that doesn't change anything but maybe it does. A couple of first downs changes that game. We'll never know.

In most respects, the Alabama and Clemson teams were pretty equal except for Clemson's obvious advantage at QB.

There were just a few too many execution errors that killed a few of our drives. And, there's always questioning of play calls and adjustments we could've made. As they say, hind sight is 20-20.

All of that said, one thing I just did not get is why we went hurry-up so much. Imo, we should've been using as much clock as possible between snaps, especially after Bo was injured. Such an easy change to make. And if it had been made, we likely would've won.

That loss stings a lot. But, the good news is Bama had a GREAT 14-1 season, even with a true freshman QB. Just 1 play, 1 mistake shy of an undeafeated season and National Title. Bama is still THE standard of excellence in CFB and the future is very bright.

Bama scored 31 points on 66 plays. It took 98 plays for Clemson to score 35 points.

Those aren't bad numbers for the Tide.

I'm just worried the talk of Hurts improving will end up being the equivalent of lsu fans talking about Brandon Harris improving.

The problem is that the options behind him are so young.

My concern is the chemistry between Hurts and the WR corps who do not seem to be behind him. In the semis he was quoted as saying something like I believe in you and you believe me to the WRs. That is not a good thing to hear a QB needing to say something like that. There seems to be no go to WR for him and I think the staff needs to work on the chemistry or next year will be a long season.
