Cauley had 4 birdies on the front 9. He has been accurate as hell today off the tee. He's on the 17th hole right now, -3 for the day. 5 under total and tied for 14th.

Wesley Bryan and Fowler just started not too long ago. Both have already drained in a birdie in the first 3 holes. Bryan is now 10 under.

Really didn't think someone would have to win this getting into double figures, but Fowler, Bryan, and Palmer might.

Fowler now 13 under and a 4 shot lead after shooting 65 yesterday. He's playing exceptionally well. He tees off at 1:45.

Bud Cauley will tee off at 11:55. Will be nice if he can get a top 10 finish.

Proposed rule changes hope to simplify sport

Reducing some of the rules.

quote:

In many cases, penalties have been rescinded. Players no longer will be assessed a one-shot penalty if their golf ball accidentally moves, if their club touches the ground while in a hazard or even if a putt strikes a flagstick that is not being tended.

We have the WGC-Mexico Championship tomorrow. Experts heavily favoring Dustin Johnson again. Rory McIlroy also returns, which makes the field very interesting. Johnson is teeing off with McIlroy and Matsuyama.

Justin Thomas will tee off tomorrow at 11:47 with Fowler and Garcia.

I hope none of these rules pass... the only one I agree with slightly is the ability to fix spike marks which is an absolutely ridiculous rule as it is now. If they allow players to fix spike marks it will make pace of play even slower though. I also dislike the WGC event moving to Mexico City, hurts the fields in the FL swing events bookending it.. maybe I'm just grumpy today

No, you're not grumpy. Some of those rule changes are atrocious.

I agree with the pace of play rules. If you can fix spike marks in your allotted time, then I say go ahead.

As for the ball moving, I think they need to revert back to, "if your ball moves, it's a penalty" UNLESS you haven't grounded your club. It would take away all the uncertainty.

Well good news is that they're proposed. Players being allowed to fix anything on the green will slow everything down and make people tune out.

Bet the elevation is going help people really drive the ball off the tee in Mexico City.

Still two under after 14. Was 3 under, until two bogies on the front 9. Luckily hit a birdie to stay two under and only a few strokes behind. On a par 5 right now on the 6th hole.

Justin Thomas is approaching superstar status in the golf world.

He's getting a ton of coverage now and he's qualified for all of the big tournaments. All he needs is a major title. No doubt about the talent. He's a birdie machine.
