Trey Mullinax and Bud Cauley both qualified for the US Open.
Davis Love IV is an alternate. Missed by 1 shot.

Good deal. Hoping Cauley can hit well. He's done good since the RBC Heritage.

He's streaky. Seems like a good guy, seems to keep his foot on the gas. That doesn't bode well for the US Open, but it isn't impossible either.
On a side note, Chip Deason, who is a Bama grad, Mondayed in for the St Judes Classic and made the cut on the number. Great guy, true golfing journeyman. Hope he has a strong weekend.

Not a good day hitting for Dustin Johnson so far. Double bogey on the 14th, and finished +3 on the back 9

DJ, Day, McIlroy are all in trouble going to day two. They'll need good rounds to still be playing come Saturday.
Mullinax (-2) and Love (-1) both under par. Cauley and Thomas both finished +1 for the day.

JT finished 3 under for the day, tied for 26th at 2 under for the tournament. He's been struggling on the 8th hole.

Haven't got to watch any of the fricking US Open, but I'm hearing some complaints about it being carried on Fox.

Great start for JT. 2 under through the first 3 holes, and now tied for 13th.

Thomas with an absolute beautiful approach on the 7th. Great back spin.
I didn't see it, but he made an insane wrap-around putt for birdie on the 5th.
He's playing confident today and has moved up into the top 10.

JT made history. -9 and takes the lead at -11 for the tournament. Breaks a 40+ year old record by Johnny Miller for lowest round in a US Open. Miller shot -8 during a round in 1973.
