I get your point, but in my opinion that is being a very disloyal fan of the team. Cheer them on as they play. Our players are playing as hard as they can. How would you like to be a player and have your own fans trying to decide whether to cheer for or against you. That is just absurd. When the season is over we can talk about the future. Right now let's see if we can go on a run.

Flip side to Florida playing a late game is that they played a really great baseball game and lost. Either they could have a hangover, or they could come out pissed. Either way, Bama has got to show they can get on base, stop swinging at low pitches, and be able to capitalize on opportunities. Florida is a deep team, set to make a run right back to Omaha. Alabama doesn't have to play Florida ball; play what works and wins the game.

I consider myself a huge baseball fan. I may not have a high baseball IQ, but I still love both the college and pro game.
I just want Alabama back into the swing of things and making these runs to Omaha. When I see our fans get into softball the way they do football, and even basketball to some extent, I just wish it would translate to baseball and we could have a solid program. We have such a solid foundation to build on to be a top program now. I still support the program through thick and thin, but Battle needs to look at where we are and see if we're getting better. Our goal should be to compete for a regular season championship and to compete for a national title in Omaha. I seriously doubt a light switch is going to come on and Gaspard is going to someday take us there. If we know we'll just inevitably fail in the postseason, then I see no point in keeping him.
