I may be a pessimist but right it looks like the best of the best of the elite talent in this class is not interested in coming to Bama. Ohio St and FSU are getting looked at by most of the 5 stars. Maybe I am spoiled. Maybe it is to early to worry. Maybe it is ok not to sign several 5 stars per class. What gives?

There's a thread that answers all your questions at the top of the page.

There's a lot of great material in the recruiting thread, but I'll give a quick overview.

1) We changed a lot of coaches, so we're off to a slow start building connections with high school coaches and players.
2) The top players in state are not as good as usual.

I personally said pretty early I think this is the year that we don't finish 1st overall in recruiting, but we all still expect a good class.

1) it's april
2) there's little difference between the #1 class and the #10 class
3) do you really think bama will pull the #1 class every year?

We only had 6 committed this time last year so Bama will be fine. With all of the back counts from last year they are being selective. Bama will be fine.

It's April!
Just skimming over numbers, I would imagine Saban and his staff are going to be a bit more selective because it doesn't look like we will lose a full allotment next year. 15 scholarship seniors and possibly 4-5 juniors that will look to leave for the NFL. Now CNS may encourage a few to look elsewhere for playing time, but that number would likely be in the 6-7 range.

Add in 2 blueshirts and a greyshirt and the numbers are even tighter. Plus, you have Byers, who didn't qualify last year That might be in this class.

Oh noez, we will only get 3 five stars instead of 6 or 7 this year.

But seriously even if this is a "down" year by our standards we will still pull in a top 5 class and out talent 99% of teams
