ort of over the top for the Alabama crowd isn't it?

How do ya'll feel about using the Alabama football facilities for this?

No it's nowhere near over the top. They held the wedding at a local catholic church then had the reception in the high donor areas of Bryant Denny that are frequently rented out for events. What is over the top about it? Would you feel better if the reception had been at a stuffy country club?

Who cares if they're not? Everyone isn't allowed to use the University plane for personal use either, but Saban can because it is in his contract. There are perks to being the Head coach at Bama and even more when you have been as successful as Saban. Are you really trying to make this a big deal?

I guess so but this is classless. Rolls-Royce on the field? fireworks going off in the endzone as they drive? There are very many Alabama football fans who have so little and probably helping to pay his salary. This display of wealth for the world to see is over the top.

Little dramatic don't you think? Its not some big secret that Saban is very wealthy. No one gives a shite because Jim-Bob from Cullman might be insulted because Nick Saban through his daughter a badass wedding reception at his own place of work.

Furthermore, the "very many Alabama fans who have so little" more than likely do not pay his salary.

If they have so little, then they aren't making a dent in his $7 mil salary.

To be fair North River is pretty sweet. Having the lake as a backdrop? I'd rather do that than the Zone, but it ain't my wedding.

Frick off....I DGAF about this...as pointed out to you anyone can rent out part of the stadium...I have ben to lots a receptions of all kinds at professional ballparks mostly business tho....maybe the Rolls Royce across the field with fireworks is a bit over the top and it wouldn't be my choice....but only LSU fans and Auburn fans get worked up about it...this and UAB.

If the bride and groom were happy, I don't see what it really matters.

I'm pretty sure who you are sharing it with matters more than where it's at.

I don't see where driving on the field with fireworks in a RR is all that much different than people throwing rice and doing up the couples car/limo for them to drive off in. It's all silly, women love it, and men know they are getting some tonight.

So sorry that Tiger Stadium is such a dump and doesn't have a nice club level venue available for Baton Rouge residents and businesses and charities to rent for parties and events.

And spare us the pseudo "Oh how horrible for Saban to flaunt his wealth in the faces of all those poor Alabamians".

He earns every damn dollar he makes and the University's investment in him has paid off 100-fold. The University and Tuscaloosa have been made richer in a multitude of ways.

And if find it really funny that a fan from a school on the verge of bankruptcy complaining about the "optics" of the wedding of the daughter of the Bama coach.

There are very many LSU students and employees who have so little and could stand to lose everything and they are probably helping to pay Miles salary. The extravagant salary for the world to see while programs and jobs are being cut at LSU is over the top.

Why are you even in here? Don't you have your own board. You came to the wrong place bud to criticize Alabama.

You went from isn't it trash for this reception to happen at BDS, then to isn't it disrepectful for them to show off there money. You have any idea how much money Saban has made Alabama and that community. This is the beauty of Capitalism it has a trickle down effect throughout the whole community. Take you Liberal/Communism/Marxism beliefs somewhere else".

BTW Capitalism is King.

I spent some time in Tuscaloosa- this just seems over the top and a bit much. I can't recall anything like this in Tiger Stadium or anywhere else. Saban is acting like this is his kingdom and he will do what he wants. The University ( and all universities ) belong to the people.

You are a sad little man.

Not the first wedding I have been to with fireworks.

And yes "The Zone" is available to anyone who can pay to rent it (rental $3500 I thin). Lots of events there, not just wedding receptions
