that's just today's society. everybody wants to be a part of something that's not happened before. elections of first *fill in the blank* be it first black president, first female president, so it will be first transgender president
Same situation here. Start a freshman QB for first time in x years (or ever for Saban)
People just get excited for seeing a new accomplishment without really studying what the best option is.
