Are they a dumpster fire? Sure.

Am I worried about this game? You betcha.

I know we have more talent and better coaching but I always feel like shite happens in this game.

Someone give me stats so i know this fear is irrational.

This is the kind of last game of the regular season rivalry game that you just want to get through with a win.

It's at Jordan-Hare.
It will be at night.
Auburn will play with a nothing to lose attitude.
Alabama will have a big game the next week, this is the season for Auburn.
They will run trick plays and go for risky fourth downs, etc. If they hit a few of these type plays then it can get interesting.

They've looked like a competent football team the past few games. They're still struggling in the red zone, as well as sustaining drives though. With Lawson back, the defense is much better than it was without him, and they're pretty good at stopping the run. Our OL will have their hands full.

I just don't see their offense being able to generate enough points, but I do expect their D to give us some problems.

If the front 7 shows up I am not worried. Gus gave Saban bulletin board material early. Saban is pissed and will tell Kiffin to score until he says stop.

They field several guys on the back end of the defense that play scared, literally scared to tackle a big back. Derrick Henry will break their will early. Motivation and rivalries can't take away one of the oldest and most basic human instincts, "fight or flight."

Auburn has a secondary full of pussies, they want nothing to do with that freight train in the open field and will pretend to make a tackle attempt all night long.

I am the #1 Auburn fretter, but I'm not worried about this game. It will take us melting down in order to lose this one. They're extremely average on offense and I just don't see Johnson or White having success against our defense. Johnson is a threat to crumble against the pressure of our defense and we could break White in half. They suck at explosive plays. On defense, I think Henry could have a field day.

The only way they hang around is if they steal some cheap TDs early and our offense screws around. Also keep in mind that AU can't exactly spend two weeks preparing for us. They have to beat Idaho if they want to become bowl eligible.

Will they come out and play with their hair on fire early? Absolutely, but it won't matter.

If we start fast and jump out 10-0 or 14-0 we will beat the snot out of them. They will be all hyped up and excited and ready to rock. But when u give a team your best shot and they get out ahead usually all that extra intensity backfires when u get down early and a butt whooping commences. But if Auburn slows down Henry early it will be like many of our games this year. A close score at the 1/2 and a pull away late type game.

Always worried when the IB comes around---with the exception of 2008 and 2012, I knew that was going to be a massacre.

My issue will be outside containment against Johnson if he plays. Good news is that with the loss of Duke, they really don't have a #1 receiver that can take over a game and test the secondary, so the game falls squarely on their QB to make plays.

We'll have to run some trap plays on offense to counter Lawson though. Unless Cam is magically healed and mentally back, he's going to have a huge test.

Though I am not as concerned about there offense as in years past, I do believe there Defense will give us a lot of issues early. A lot of there blowouts came early in the year when several of there Defense starters (Lawson included) were injured. I think we win but do think it will be a much lower scoring game than people think! RTR

We will have to wrap up Robinson. He is a big, physical, quick back that requires some attention.

I think our D will be playing with a chip on their shoulder since they gave 44 last year to AU.

I think that if our Oline is out of sorts like it is sometimes, things could be interesting at least for a little while.

Robinson and that Barber guy are some pretty physical backs that can get YAC if they're not gang tackled. Defense has to be ready for them and get penetration to disrupt the timing of everything. One thing that screws Malzahn's offense up is disrupting up the middle and forcing the QB to make quick decisions. Gus loves the slow developing plays that can use a lot of misdirection and players moving everywhere to confuse you.

I'm really thinking that when you combine the fact that Gus said "we should've hung 60 on them" pre-season about last year's Iron Bowl, and the simple fact that we did give up 44 points and some 500 or 600 yards of offense to them, that should be motivation enough for us to destroy them on defense.

I think our offensive game plan will be feed the beast, #2.

I'd also hope that the team would get some motivation from what happened on their last trip to Jordan-Hare

I'm guessin' he's talkin' 'bout when Gus mentioned at/before the beginning of the season where they should've dropped 60 on Bama last year and won the Iron Bowl...

Their defense isn't bad. To be honest, I've been really impressed with the job Muschamp's done this year. They've come miles in one season. I really hope he gets a HC offer this year. Muschamp will have them in position and they've proven to be a pretty opportunistic bunch.

Expect them to make some plays on that side of the ball.

Having said that, they've still got issues even a good DC can't mask. The biggest is that they're not very deep at all and even with getting some guys back, they've still lost guys that were meaningful contributors. They'll make plays but much like the Moo State game, at some point the dam should break.

Their real problem is on the other side of the ball. Their offense is worse than a hot mess. They simply don't have an identity at all. Barber and Robinson are serviceable backs with Robinson looking like he might be a really good one but there just isn't anything after them. Lewis drops as many as he catches and he's their best WR - but that doesn't matter because right now they don't have a QB.

White's got a good arm, seems to play smart, and when healthy is relatively mobile but he's not that big and now he's got a hurt knee. There's a pretty good chance that he will get honest-and-for-real killed if he tries to face Bama's front 7 for an entire game. Jeremy Johnson appears to be a head case. He makes bad reads, bad throws, and looks all around confused all the time. After those two, they go wildcat.

As hard as it is to believe when talking about a Malzahn offense, there's a real possibility they won't score an offensive touchdown.

Meh.....their defense is playing better since Lawson came back and Boom has the unit playing better as a whole. I like Cassanova McKenzie and think is a good player too.... but they just don't have the horses on that side of ball....

Not only is their offense a disaster but Malzhan has just not recruited well on defense.
