I think it's too early in the season to talk about this, but I keep hearing people say it. Do you think Kiffin will not be at Bama next year? If so where do you think he lands?

Personally I don't see a major program taking the risk on him right now, and I don't really see him leaving for a low level power 5 program (Kansas State, Oregon State, etc) like some have suggested.

LSU fans are shockingly perceptive at what goes on within their program. I would not be surprised if LSU make a run at him this offseason. That's a job too good to pass up.

I'm leaning torwards Kiffin leaving after this year to take a HC position. Imo, I think this is why Sarkisian was brought in...to help make the transition a lot smoother seeing as how he and Kiffin were co-OC's at SoCal.

No. IMHO, he'll pass on the west coast and be someplace like Auburn or LSU. Both are desperate to beat Saban right now and at least one of them will look to a Saban connection to do it.

Kiffin will be looking for a payday now that he is no longer guaranteed $3.4 million per year from USC.

Saban, for his part, has already hired Kiffin's replacement.

What makes everyone so confident that Sarkisian wouldn't just follow Kiffin?

Why would he? Being the OC at Alabama is better than any job he could possibly have going with Kiffin.

No chance he's at Alabama next year. The Sarkisian hire is a pretty decisive action in that direction

I originally thought that would be an option, but a program taking a chance on Kiffin likely would prefer a more stable coaching staff around him.

Even after 1 season on the Alabama staff, other programs would likely want to see a Sark go a little longer without an issue before being comfortable bringing him in, especially as a top assistant to Lane Kiffin at this point in both guy's careers.

Because like Kiffin, Sarkisian is getting a fresh start and having worked under Saban at THE University of Alabama will look damn good on his resume.

No freaking way he leaves to follow Kiffin, if Kiffin was to leave.

If Kiffin is thinking this through he should take a lower level job. Longer leash, less pressure to win big right away. Learn to be a HC for a few years.

I was surprised he was back this season. If we have even moderate success this season he will be gone.

Kiffin doesn't have the credibility to conduct the make-over that Sark requires. Hell, people just started taking Kiffin seriously.

Leaving Bama to follow Kiffin anywhere would be announcing to the world that he has no ambitions of becoming a HC. Kiffin would receive most of the credit for the offense of any team he is HC of. With Saban and Alabama he would be running most of the offense and receive the credit/blame for said offensive production.

He knows that offense , all the intricacies , and will get a year to hear SABAN suggest , lane to run a lil more . Then just slide right in there and not miss a beat . BRILLANT !

It's hard to say for sure, because I suspect there are many fans and perhaps even ADs around college football who will never take Kiffin seriously or respect him as a head coach. You're right that a big time program would be taking a risk hiring him, but (besides Tom Herman) what realistically available coach is out there right now who seems like a sure thing?
