I don't beleive we will scrap the I formation just because Fowler is out. Who other than Johnson do you see lining up as a legit blocking back in the I?
I will not be surprised if we line up in the I and motion out of it more but I do expect to see some power plays run from it.

Harrison jones. Malcolm faciane.
Possibilities of a switch- Anthony Orr, William Ming, Chris bonds. They're all big bodies that aren't seeing much time on defense

I see attrition out of those names you just mentioned

What about Calloway? The guys an athlete. If he puts on a few lbs, I'd like to see what he could do.

Wilson Love - a mean fullback - just don't let him touch the ball.

I've wondered about him at FB. We know he has RB experience. If he is legit 220 he may be an option.

Wasn't Calloway moved to the other side to shore up the thin secondary/linebackers? If so, how much time has he spent with the offense? Not really looking for answers, just thinking out loud.
I hope we can find someone to fill JF's role. When I saw Bama in the I-formation 2 weeks ago, it moved!

He was playing on offense in one of the games. I've forgotten which already. I think he's a bit banged up at the moment. I would think Harrison would get into the rotation now though.

you're right, Calloway did come in at RB at the end of the opener. Interesting.

I've been wondering if Derrick Henry couldn't fill a Fowler-type role in the future (i.e., play tailback, fullback and H-back). He's one of the best pure athletes in the entire class of 2013 and could easily do something like that. He's definitely got the size at 6'3 240. I think it would be a real plus in recruiting to tell a player they'd be in the offense on most snaps playing a variety of different roles.

Just checked. NCAA stats website has Calloway listed as TE and playing time in the Michigan game. No time logged in the WKy game. Might end up taking up the slack. Only other TE's listed to have had playing time were Williams and Vogler.

I could definitely see him being used in that role. From the way Fowler started out, that's going to be a well used position in the offense under Nussmeier.

Calloway (#21) did run the FB/HB position the last few plays of the Mich game while Drake was at HB.
But I figure we'll see more of the TE/HB now that Fowler is lost for the year.

Just remembered to bump this and say "you were correct CC"
First thing I thought of when I saw him line up at FB in the redzone Saturday
