Guess that means it's time to official turn the page on 2016.

Kudos to you.

Its expensive to be a Bama fan. Makes me completely understand why we didn't have a big crowd in Tampa.

Yep. And if it hadn't been in Tampa the crowd would have been even more sparse (I only went because I had business hotel points and could drive down day of and back the next morning).

Once they move on from the southeast for these title games (if we are still in them), we're going to see some rough trips. San Fransisco in a couple years? Lawd.

I didn't even know Mercer had a football team until we announced we would play them. I would've rather played Charleston southern again. At least they're considered good in their division.

Yea - not ever playing a fun OOC game at home is definitely getting more and more irritating. Especially when the alternative is a $175 ticket to a fun game that should be home and home. At least the home SEC slate is decent this year. Ole Miss, Arkansas, Tennessee, LSU.

Last year was a joke.

At least our home SEC schedule doesn't suck this year.

Last year's home slate was pretty damn meh

$175 a piece and they let me request 2. I'm in the 2nd lowest level of points (I have around 450). You had to have 200 points to be able to request, I think.

Like, I understand stuff is expensive now and that this is a HUGE game in a BRAND NEW venue.........but face value of $175 for a regular season game? That's just ridiculous.

But, they won, because me and everybody else forked over our money.

Just think about how many games we've had to shell out major money for since Saban arrived. You could be a huge Alabama fan with some cash in the bank but it eventually gets to the point where a reasonable person would say "I've spent enough. Will have to watch on TV." That's why I wish they would throw us a bone and have a quality home & home instead of scheduling someone like Duke in Atlanta. That's a joke.

The bottom line is the addition of the semi-final has forced fans to choose because its just too tough for most to go to both.

Exactly. To be honest, I was shocked when as many people showed up in Dallas last year as they did for the USC game.

It's insane to expect people to spend $3,000 - $4,000 a SEASON on tickets and travel to sporting events. That is rough for one year. It's not possible for 4-5 years straight.

And, like I said back during the bowl games, if people want to equate that to fans being "spoiled", then so be it. You don't live in the real world.

I'm definitely at the point where I went to a title game we won, went last year and will probably try and go to the title game this year if we go (solely because its 5 stops south on MARTA), but I'm pretty much out after that. It's only feasible at this point if I only pay for 2 tickets and pay nothing for travel. Otherwise, I just can't rationalize it. And I know I'm not the only one.

The student tickets for USC were like $55 this year. I'll be really disappointed if student tickets for FSU are a lot higher. I really want to go that game.

I hope legit home and home OOC matchups come back at some point.

People like to say we're spoiled, but in the end it's just reality. It's a good problem to have but yeah, it gets to the point where people simply can't justify spending that cash every year. To be honest, it sort of rubs me the wrong way when I hear Saban complain about it.

I know if helps recruiting to play these games, but maybe do something for the fans every now and then. If we're hellbent on doing a neutral site, then let's play in Chicago, or NYC, etc. If we're going to sellout and play Duke, let's demand that our basketball team get a home and home with them.

It very much rubs me the wrong way. To be honest, it really pisses me off. Probably the only thing he does that just really gets under my skin.

Let's not, they would kick our arse like they did in the garden a few years ago

I'm getting cold sweats thinking about our basketball team playing in Cameron Indoor. That would get way out of hand

I know these things have been discussed ad nauseum on here, but I'm not asking for the moon here. A neutral site game 2 out of every 4-5 years, a home game every year against a P5 team (Wake Forest, Cal, Illinois, Rutgers, Syracuse, Kansas State, etc) and 2 of them some years.

Those P5 teams usually want a home and home. For Bama that means good money for when they have the home game, but no money when they travel. As opposed to 4-5 million per year for neutral site game.

Bama was suppose to play a home and home series with Michigan St in 16 and 17. Would you had rather Bama play Michigan St twice like that or play USC last year and FSU this year.

Louisville in Orlando next year will be fun. Duke in Atlanta in 19 might suck though.
