I've only been a fan since 2008, my freshman year, but I'd put him up there with Rashad Johnson or Javier Arenas right now.

Eddie Jackson went from like a no name, injured WR to THE must have DB recruit the December of that year.

Lucky is more like it. If 2008 was his freshman year, it isn't fair to call him bandwagon. Lucky is more like it.

At 49, I was a fan during the end of Bryant's last run, Stalling's run, and then had to bear the three Mikes.

It doesn't get ANY better than it is right now.

As far as the OP's question, he's a tremendous find. Whomever is responsible for getting him here deserves a big bonus this spring.

that's not a very long span...he was extremely talented and athletic, he just played at 2A Fultondale HS as QB, had he played right up the road at one of the powerhouse 5 or 6A schools, like Hoover, Homewood even Gardendale HS he'd likely have been a pretty high rated QB

Javy was a pretty nice steal, so was Prothro

Courtney Upshaw and Donta Hightower were 2 others

My freshman year was seriously 2008, I was really fricking lucky. And I graduated in 2013, so I was there for 3 championships.

I went to my first Bama game in 1992 (Ole Miss). My freshman year at UA was 2006, Shula's last year. Graduated in 2010. Last game of my collegiate career was against Texas for the NC. It was a crazy ride from 1992-2009.

Mark Ingram was a pretty good steal. He wasn't very highly rated. I think one site had him as a 4*. Dareus was rated high by Scout but no one else. Those two come to mind.

Went to college at Alabama.

I made this account back when I still didn't hate tOSU. I actually tried to get it changed once but the admins told me to have sex with myself

It's gotta be Demeco Ryans. Charlie Peprah was a pretty big steal too. Got him out of Texas during a time when Alabama was not very appealing.

He was going to Alabama for the longest, His buddy Todd Bates really helped with that....they played at Heflin together. My brother played with them for 4+ years.
