Amidst all the focus on Hurts and Tagovailoa, the A-Day MVP has gone a little overlooked. But what a great performance that was by him - 5 catches, 134 yards, 2 TDs while playing with the second team offense. I fully expect him to be the next great WR of the Saban era. Even with ArDarius Stewart departing, I expect the top 3 spots to be locked up (Ridley, Foster, Sims), but Jeudy will definitely get playing time all season and might push for a starting role. What do yall think?

I think we'd be crazy not to start him. Tbh I don't understand why we don't just start our 3 best WRs. I haven't been a fan of our "possession receiver" the past 2 years.

Our starters should be Jeudy, Ridley, Foster/Sims.
Jeudy might be the best receiver on the team

I'd be shocked if Sims gets any considerable playing time.

Dude is a player for sure. It was awesome seeing Robert Foster show out too.

Get ready to be shocked then.

Also agree with the above posters, Jeudy is going to be a beast for us.

Can he block? If not, he ain't gonna see much of the field.....not many freshmen receivers come to the program who are proficient at blocking. They never had to.

Richard Mullaney was very good. Dieter blocked very well which was probably more valuable given Jalen's ability last year.

We need an announcer that does a good Cary Grant impersonation so when the kid catches a TD pass we can hear, "Jeudy! Jeudy! Jeudy"!

Until qb play improves, it doesn't matter if we have another julio.

I realized later that this thread is asking the forum to judge Jeudy.

Sims is the best blocker in the WR Corp, that will get him playing time alone.

We have both the trashy TV series covered:

"Jerry! Jerry! JERRY! JERRY!"

works equally as well as

"Jeudy! Jeudy! JEUDY! JEUDY!"

Most teams would trade their left nut for one elite WR so I am almost embarrassed with what we have at the position and that's not counting Henry Ruggs who has a very high ceiling as well. If Hurts is just adequate passing this year we are going to dominate...again.

My problem with the whole blocking thing: yes, it's important and I'm glad Saban emphasizes it. But don't overstress it to the point that you take a great receiver off the field in favor of a blocker who's a net liability in the passing scheme. That was Dieter. You basically took a better receiver off the field for a receiver who was an excellent blocker but had average hands at best, more realistically was a 50-50 proposition whether he makes the catch or not. If we're going to overemphasize something, let's make it their primary function.
