I'm liking it too.

Feels like 2008 again.

They can say that all they want, but once the season starts, and if we're playing well right off the bat, the expectation from around the country will be that Alabama is going to, or should, win the SEC.

Since we don't have 7-6 seasons anymore, knock on wood, not being picked to win the West is about the only chance, though it's small, of being an underdog.

LSU and Auburn should be favored right now. If we get solid QB play, everything changes.

The favorite hasn't won it in a very long time.

I love it. We weren't the favorites in 2008 or 2009. It also takes a little of the pressure of the players and gives them some motivation. Being the big dog takes its toll on a program after a while.

That said, I know AU is bringing back some good players but its amazing how much love they are getting for a team that lost 4 of it's last 5. The one win being a terrible effort against Samford. If we had finished the season like that, the Alabama media would be digging Saban's grave.

You want people to express their feelings about the feelings expressed by others?

Good grief.

I don't really remember being favorites last year either going into the season. Just like in 2008 when everyone picked Clemson to run us over, Georgia to black us out, LSU to stomp Saban into the ground, and Auburn to continue its streak. Or like in '09 when there was no way Alabama could live up to the hype again, Greg McElroy will struggle mightily and cost Alabama its title, Florida would be the best team to ever touch the field, and Texas would just redo the Utah gameplan.

Love being the underdogs. Last year was especially sweet seeing Sims progress as a player, Robinson totally dominate the LT position as a freshman, Ragland be the next best Alabama linebacker, and JK Scott kicking everyone in the balls.

One one hand it could be motivation for the team, but on the other I find it hilarious that Bama wouldn't be.

Makes me feel AWESOME!!!!! IMO, most teams play better when they are the underdog and feel disrespected... Hopefully this Bama teams comes out with a SERIOUS attitude and ready to dish out punishment..

Not at all Saint...and I LOVE it

reminds me of the year Tampa wonn the Super Bowl without a "great QB" or a "great RB" but a nasty as frick defense

This team has a lot of similarities

Let's be honest, seasons are a lot more fun when you're trying to prove something. Yeah, we all want Alabama to go Playstation over everyone on our schedule, but sometimes its a lot more fun to play with a chip on the shoulder. Now whether or not we have that chip is up for debate.

Pisses me off. I want everybody to be scared as all get out when they see us on the schedule. We've lost that the last couple of years. EVERYBODY thinks they have a chance against us. Its time to do away with that.

Not being the favorite is just fine with me.

I'd rather see the team fight to be on top vs complacency and feelings of entitlement.
