I hope Pruitt runs these guys from 00:00 until the sun comes up. Pathetic performance by this defense.

DL has looked very suspect at times tonight. There have been some sizable holes on some of these runs.

I hope he does something constructive to help them improve. It's not that they aren't trying. It's that we are missing a bunch of defensive playmakers. Or maybe he can lay hands on the injured guys and get them back.

The DL and middle linebackers were bad tonight. Zero pass rush, and getting routinely gashed on simple run plays. I can't remember the last time the opposing running backs routinely went 4-5 yards before even being touched. The reason we're getting torched on screens is because we have to bring extra rushers to get pressure which is leaving it wide open

It's not just today. Last week against Fresno they had 1 sack and like 2 hurries.

our DB's are not looking back on the balls on a consistent basis. This has been a trend for years, not just this season

Depending on the situation, they are taught not to.

Honestly the coverage was tight. The DBs were in a good position to make a play. I can't rate their performance for lower than a B. Bad tackling some plays, but coverage was okay this early in the season. The pass rush is awful though.

The fade pass ... our QB can't throw it and our DBs can't defend it.

They definitely looked lackluster and inconsistent. I think some of it is the team being young, with a side of complacency/not caring enough for this particular game. Colorado State is no FSU, and harder to get pumped up for. That's a bad excuse and mentality, of course, and I know Saban absolutely hates performances like that in these kinds of games, but I'm willing to bet that a lot of the guys just didn't feel hyped for it, whereas Colorado State had nothing to lose and was absolutely hyped for it.
There were some really great plays on both sides of the ball, though. Also, hitting those FGs was a relief, too. Hopefully, we'll see more improvement as the season goes on.

We are getting zero pass rush and fundamentally we are not very good, teams are dinking and dunking us to death. I think we will improve but enough to beat Clemson and Oklahoma? I don't know about that.

Our QB is starting to get it, and the offense IS coming on, they might have to carry us.
