I wouldn't get your hopes up. The majority of Alabama fans live within driving distance, so they can head down today or tomorrow (the dozen or so people I know going are going today after work) I expect it pretty close to 50-50 though.

It's a 5 hour drive max for Bama fans living in Birmingham or points south. Everyone I know who is going is spending NYE with family and driving over tomorrow. I doubt many Bama fans want to stay in New Orleans for an extended period and hang out at the ESPN stage, especially given how many times we've played there recently.

Back in 2009 there were 80/20 Bama/Texas fans in Pasadena the week leading up to the game but the actual split in the stadium was about 55/45 in favor of Texas.

My parents are leaving this afternoon for New Orleans because the drive is short. I suspect many Alabama fans living in Alabama, Mississippi, Florida and Georgia have the same idea.

I'm not even leaving until early in the morning. I imagine a lot are doing the same.

Only one I know that is going and is already there, lives there and is at work today. Everyone else I know that is going is getting there today or tonight.

Yeah, trust me. We're coming. I've seen a lot of Bama fans on I-65 heading south. I left Montgomery around 1:20 and am almost to Mobile.

This was tongue in cheek, but it will be about 50/50.

It's gonna be fun.
