Agreed. If that doesn't get you pumped up, nothing will.

I'm glad that at the end of March we're still talking about basketball on tRant. I enjoy football as much as anyone, but basketball had become an afterthought around here. The SEC can also be the premier BB conference. I think we are finally seeing more emphasis on it around the conference.

Sexton is going to be a star. I can't believe he's actually playing for Alabama. Just won the dunk contest and has a crazy good jumper. He's the best player we've had in a very long time. Arkansas got some studs coming in?

For the record, I didn't say Wimp was a bad coach....far from it...I do think his teams underperformed in the tourney given the talent they had.

I honestly am more excited for next basketball season than I am football. Everyone's over here getting excited for spring practice and while I am too, im way more excited for tonight McDonald's All American Game

Porter has been balling too. I didn't realize how good he was in the post. He looks incredibly comfortable down there for a small forward. I know he's 6'10", but most high schoolers don't have much of a post game.

Retin? Seems like other than this year that we've always had a star player. Before Retin was Randolph. Before him was Releford. Before him was Mitchell and Green. We just never had much of a supporting cast. This year we had the supporting cast, but no stars.

I agree about the lack of any player that could just take a game over this year. Key is very talented but extremely "raw" and it's telling that so much was put on his shoulders in terms of creating.

However, Retin, Releford and Randolph were also not quite Sidarius Thornwell (and hopefully Sexton) level. I'd probably go a step further than saying they just needed a "supporting cast" and say they needed a star volume scorer/creator on the court with them to be a Sweet 16 or better threat. To compare to South Carolina, they'd probably be more the PJ Dozier on a team with such aspirations.

Mitchell and Green certainly could have/ should have been on that level.
