So far they are 9-0, grant it the best team they played has probably been Iowa, at least that's the biggest name. They've struggled against some weak competition this weekend, they beat Florida Gulf Coast 2-1, Wichita State 2-0, and Georgia Southern 2-1 in 9 innings. I read earlier in the week that basically all of those teams sucked. Probably just some early growing pains?

Returning starter from NC team is a nice start but we lost our best offensive player if I am not mistaken. The young players looked like they had some ability when they played last year.

Definitely lost some talent last yr, but have really good young talent that came in. Offense may have a little growing pains, but will have a legit shot to make a deep run in Omaha again.

I wish we could see our school in Omaha again...

I don't know why CPM never plays anyone OOC.

Every one of the teams are shitty

Huh? I have been there when we hosted Washington (eventual national champ), UGA and Baylor.

Those seniors on last seasons national championship team were a huge part of our recent success. I think our girls can make the post season but i'm not expecting an SEC or national championship this season.

^^^this^^^ unless the SEC is as bad in softball as it appears in men's basketball this year.

I gotcha. I wasn't aware of how many seniors we lost. But I agree, this OOC schedule is pathetic

'11-'12 we played Jax State, South Alabama, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Oregon.

'10-'11 we played Louisville, Mizzou, Notre Dame, La-Lafayette, Virginia, Ga Tech, UNC and FSU

'9-'10 we played Mizzou, Ohio State, Maryland, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska, UCF, Northwestern and Ga Tech.

CPM has put us in some good tournaments and scheduled some pretty good teams.

Maybe I should've said more western teams...

Softball is a west sport.

Just because a team 'has a name' doesn't necessarily make them good....mostly like the ones you listed. other than Tech, Mizz, UNC, OU
