Whether it is Reggie, Reuben, or Dillon playing Mack in Dime, are you comfortable with it? With how good the front is and how good the secondary is starting to look, I still worry about the Mack position. For Reggie, I think he can be solid in coverage, but against HUNH attacks I don't know how he'll look alone in the middle against WRs coming across. If it is Reuben, well I'm just not sure he can be a good cover backer yet. If it is Lee, he's been talked about as a guy who can cover for a while now, and I don't disagree, but I wanna see if he lives up to that.

Figured this could have its own thread, because I'd say other than Safety, this is the only role on defense that I'm currently not sold on.

i'm ok with any of the three. Rags looked pretty good defending Hunter Henry last season. Reuben has always been surprisingly better in pass coverage than I've thought, even since the HS all-american game. Dillon Lee is the guy I somewhat expect to play there the most. He's rangy and knows the schemes, but I havent seen him in a lot of one on one battles down the field.

I have no say. Saban will do what he feels is best and I will just have to deal with it.

I'm not overly concerned with the coverage ability of the dime linebacker. I want him to first and foremost be able to stop the draw or shadow the quarterback. Our top 6 defensive backs will be lockdown if I'm to believe what I'm hearing out of camp. When you can match a Fitzpatrick or Harrison or Mo Smith on a number 5 wide receiver or tight end I like our odds

That said, I'd be most comfortable with Ragland because he's got the best instincts of the group

From the little I know, I think either Foster or Dillon will do well there...I think Ragland's more of a downhill guy so I like him attacking the ball much more than being in coverage. Since I've been reading that Foster has been playing with the 1's in Dime, I'm guessing he's currently ahead of the others in coverage skills...

But hopefully they can all cover to some degree since the good HUNH teams will be trying to keep our non-Dime personnel on the field...
