This game epitomizes every complaint we've had about him this season. Still care to tell us how he's not a problem and our criticism is unwarranted?

At least Belue won't turn his head around to see this post.

Seriously...he's Marquis Johnson pre-2009. Always in position to make a play if he would just turn his fricking head around. There is a reason every team has picked on him with those kind of throws.

I remember Dee having a worse year as a first year starter too. Just like I knew Milliner was gonna be the best DB this year Belue will be a top 5 CB next year

I don't mind hoping and believing that right along with you but that is NOT this year. This year, he was not very good.

For now, let's just put it all behind us and enjoy our month before the big game.

Oh I'm not hoping, I'm knowing.

And he's been good. Maybe not very good, but he's been good. Anyway yeah let's enjoy the win.

Milliner defined the way you're supposed to play with a pass he defended in the first half. It was freaking textbook.

I disagree. He's done a good job of locating it all year. One play today we doubled up with Smith and Belue on one guy and it looked like Belue was playing anything inside and Geno was supposed to be outside, when Belue saw the ball he was about half a second off, but he got turned around and over there as quick as he could. He and Fulton will make a fantastic combo next year.

I think we can all agree that HaHa is going to be a force next season. 4 INTs on the year now, good ball skills, just an all around athlete. Makes good tackles too.

And that isn't a laugh at you, it's a friendly laugh.

4 INTs on the year, has looked like a future stud all season. Unless he gets injured or kills someone he's starting next year. If Landon Collins starts, it'll be opposite HaHa. Though Vinnie could always play SS and Collins could end up at Money. Though Jarrick will be back and he could end up at SS or Money. The only things that look certain right now are Belue/Fulton at CB and HaHa at FS. Fulton MIGHT (shouldn't) not start over Geno, but come on to play outside in Nickel/Dime while Geno moves inside to Star.

eta : Ah, you meant Vinnie.

Belue is an athlete playing CB, he's never gonna be a technician with elite read/reactions skills. It's not a knock, as there are plenty of those types at the college and NFL level. He's a bit or get bit player.

Only person I was upset with more than once today was Lester, he missed several tackles as a SS type Safety. That's what you should be good at, yet he whiffed on Gurley at least 3 times.

I think Geno is the future at CB in '13, not Belue or Fulton. Bama will still need a healthy 3 at CB if they want to continue Geno at STAR.

Agreed. Geno has a ton of upside and seems like a gamer. True freshmen don't generally do well at corner in the SEC (Milliner can attest to that), but he has held his own when he has been put in for meaningful snaps.

To be fair, he was a FS when Barron was here. He's only playing SS because of HaHa.

I'm speaking as what type of Safety he is in general, which is SS. He's a blitzer and gap filler more than a rangy ballhawk.

FS and SS as positions really don't exist anymore, it's more about being able to switch on any given play. Rashad Johnson is really the last FS type Saban has had before HCD. Having such should allow Bama to be better on the back end in the next few years.

Landon Collins is that hybrid like Barron, he's rangy enough, but also has the ability to fill the lane.

Im excited about the talent we have coming back in the backfield next year. Lester to me has taken a step back this year and I feel like experience is the only thing keeping him back there.

I feel like he is not a top three Safety like projected, but still top five.
