Has anyone heard Jelks give a talk to youths? The park I coach at is considering bringing him in during the summer to speak/help with camp.

Tons of good choices from players that have actually contributed to the Alabama program.

Martin Houston
Brandon Gibson
Wesley Britt
Tyler Watts
Baron Huber
Will Lowery
Jeremiah Castille
Siran Stacy
John Croyle
Thomas Rayam
Benny Perrin
Steadman Sheally
to name a few...

If you're going with Jelks doesn't it make sense to bring in Langham too? Ridiculous to allow him to prosper off his name as a former Alabama player.

The guy didn't sound remorseful at all in Roll Tide, War Eagle. He wanted to lay the blame on Alabama and Auburn boosters. Yes, they took advantage of a kid, but when you're nearly a 45 year old man now it's time to own up to some degree.

Deserves forgiveness if he is sincere about it. Can't damn him.

I agree with this. It's been 23 years, and everyone has moved on since then. It's time to let it go and forgive the man.

Very true. There's an awful lot of small-minded bitterness in this thread.

I have been in contact with him. Seems very humble and wanting to be a source of education for young people. I am looking forward to it. It is sort of surreal to be FBing with him.

I will say this about Jelks - I played against him once in high school - he was the best high school running back I have ever seen. Larry Rose opened the holes for him, and he crushed it every play.

The thing that beat Jelks was Bobby Humphrey being so good.
